Doane Softball split their final two games in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and finished the trip with a 2-2 record. In the opener on Saturday, the Tigers fell to Kansas Wesleyan, 4-0, but bounced back with a 9-1 win in five innings over Haskell.

Doane out-hit Kansas Wesleyan in the opener, 8-6, but KWU was able to get one big hit that was the difference. In the 3rd inning, Tara Stubits helped her own cause by hitting a 3-run home run for the first runs of the game. She picked up the win in the circle for the Coyotes by throwing a complete game shutout.

Seven different players had hits for the Tigers, however, they were all singles. Jade Hill (FR/San Diego, Calif.) led the way with two base hits. Josie Schnakenberg (JR/Wahoo, Neb.) took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in 7.0 innings with five strikeouts.

Haskell scored the first run of the game before Doane scored the next nine and walked off the game in the 5th inning. Ashley Jacobson (JR/Omaha, Neb.) held the Indians to one run (zero earned) on one hit over 5.0 innings in picking up the win. She struck out three batters.

Doane had 10 hits in the game, led by Haley Kennedy (JR/Lincoln, Neb.). The Tiger third baseman went 3-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI. Ashley Meyer (SR/Temecula, Calif.) added two hits and two runs scored. Megan Elliott (FR/Simi Valley, Calif.) hit a three-run home run while Hill had a two-run triple.
