WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University improved its season record to 16-14 with its 8-0 and 11-1 collegiate softball victories against Clark Atlanta University, an NCAA Division II member from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association, March 27, on West Point Park Field. Point senior Ryan Simpson (Valley, AL) allowed just a lead-off single in the fifth inning of game one and evened her season record at 7-7, and junior Allie Beilstein (Montgomery, AL) allowed just one single in the fourth inning of game two and improved her record to 9-7. Point totaled 19 runs and 24 hits and received nine walks while allowing just one run in the last inning of game two, three hits and no walks. Coached by Jennifer Tyler (Eighth season), Point plays important AAC doubleheaders at ninth-place Bryan College (10-21; 7-10 AAC), Friday, March 29 at 3 p.m., and at second-place Tennessee Wesleyan University (17-3; 14-2 AAC), which ranks number 23 in the NAIA, Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m.
