[Softball] RedStorm set for NAIA tourney opener

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The University of Rio Grande softball team will begin its quest for the school's first-ever World Series berth when it meets Faulkner (Ala.) University in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round's Bowling Green No. 2 Bracket.
The RedStorm, who are the No. 3 seed seed in the four-team bracket, will face the second-seeded Eagles on Monday, May 14, at 12:30 p.m. EDT, at the Michael O. Buchanon Park in Bowling Green, Ky.
Rio Grande (35-11), which is ranked 24th nationally, punched its ticket to the national tournament by winning the River States Conference regular season and tournament championships.
The RedStorm is making its fifth national tournament appearance overall and its fourth under the tournament's current format.
Rio is coming off wins over Ohio Christian, West Virginia University-Tech and Midway in the RSC tournament. The RedStorm were declared the tourney champion after inclement weather prevented a championship rematch with Midway from taking place.
