KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Facing its third top-25 team of the year, Avila held its own for eight innings against no. 22 Morningside College (9-0), but couldn't overcome the Mustang outburst in the top of the ninth, falling 10-4. The Eagles (4-4) would come back in the nightcap of the split doubleheader to take a 6-4 win over Benedictine College (2-3). Morgan Senevey struck out five en route to the win in game 2.
