COLUMBIA, Ky. - No. 1-seeded Lindsey Wilson softball is set to compete against No. 3-seeded Grand View (Iowa) Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. CT in the winner's bracket of the NAIA Opening Round in Columbia, Kentucky.
The winner of this matchup advances to Wednesday's NAIA Opening Round Championship game scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.
The Blue Raiders (47-2) advanced after defeating Saint Xavier (Ill.) 2-1 in an extra-inning matchup on Monday afternoon.
Lindsey Wilson enters the game with a .352 batting average, 69 home runs, and 333 RBIs. Samantha Luckett proved to be the difference offensively in the Blue Raider first game of the opening round as she provided the two runs needed for the win with two solo home runs, including the game-winner in the top of the eighth inning.
Annabelle Ramirez top-notched performance in the circle helped keep Lindsey Wilson in the game, pitching eight-innings allowing four hits and one run, while retiring eight batters.
