[Softball] Softball Falcons Tabbed Fifth in KCAC Preseason Poll

WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Softball Falcons have been selected fifth in the KCAC Softball Coaches' Preseason Poll, the league has released.

Tabor College, the defending KCAC regular season and tournament champion, was chosen to win the league again this season after receiving 10 first-place votes.

Ottawa University was picked second with one first-place vote, with Oklahoma Wesleyan University coming in third and getting the remaining two first-place nods.

KCAC newcomer Avila University was fourth, followed by the Falcons to round out the top five.

Friends finished tied for third last season in the KCAC with a 15-7 league record along with a 26-24 overall mark.

The Falcons, under first-year head coach Suzanne Unruh, will begin the 2019 season at nearby Newman University on Feb. 6 in Wichita.

Friends will be home for the first time when it hosts the Buffalo Wild Wings Friends University Softball Invitational on Mar. 1-2 at the Two Rivers Youth Complex in Wichita.
