[Softball] Softball Splits with St. Andrews in Pair of Tight Contests

DAYTON, Tenn. – The Bryan College softball team battled for an Appalachian Athletic Conference split on Tuesday evening when the Lions hosted the Knights of St. Andrews University (N.C.) in doubleheader action. Bryan produced two-run rallies in both the second and fourth innings of game one before tallying the winning run in the bottom of the fifth and holding on for the 5-4 victory. The Knights responded with all six of their runs in the second contest through the first four frames. After quiet fifth and sixth innings, the Lions applied pressure with two runs in the bottom of the seventh while possessing the tying run on third and the winning run on second with only one out. Unfortunately, a strikeout and pop out ended the chances at the walk-off, helping St. Andrews avoid the sweep and escaping 6-5.
