Claiming the sixth spot on the 2017-18 countdown of the Top Ten Moments for Vanguard Athletics in Softball. The team claimed a share of the Golden State Athletic Conference regular season championship which makes them winners of three of the last four GSAC titles. This earned them a second consecutive berth in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. Highlights of the season include the team crossing over the 1,000 win threshold, reaching the 50 win plateau which is the second most in program history, head coach Beth Renkoski winning her 750th game for the Lions which leads all coaches in Vanguard history, and Kolbi Tonini tossing a no-hitter against the University of Saint Katherine on April 5th.
