EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Trevecca Nazarene University sophomore MaKray Odom Division II Conference Commissioner's Association Midwest Region First Team Shorstop, in a vote by the Midwest Region's sports information directors. The full D2CCA All-Midwest Region Team is included below.


Odom, who is the 2018 Great Midwest Player of the year, turned in a conference-best .493 batting average. The .493 batting average is sixth best in all of NCAA Division II through the conference tournament. Her 74 hits are 15th best in NCAA D2.


The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named Odom to the 2018 NFCA Division II All-Midwest Region First Team.


Her season numbers include six doubles, four triples, one home run, 23 RBI and 37 runs scored.


Odom's conference rankings are first in batting average (.493) and second in on-base percentage (.506) and hits (74). Her four triples placed her third in the league. She finished fourth in slugging percentage (.607) and stolen bases (22). Odom ranked fifth in runs scored (37) and total bases (91).


Odom surged at the 2018 Great Midwest Championships. There Odom hit .727 (8-11) with a .818 on-base-percentage. Odom scored twice with a double, an RBI, and two stolen bases during the Trojans three games.


Odom helped lead the Trojans to another 30-win season and a 14-4 home mark while touring the Great Midwest with a 15-9 mark.


Grand Valley State University junior pitcher Allison Lipovsky and Truman State University junior outfielder Christa Reisinger have been named the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association Midwest Region Softball Pitcher and Player of the Year, respectively.


Lipovsky, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2018, finished the year with a 22-5 record, a 0.81 ERA, a .139 opponent batting average and 309 strikeouts. She is the second player in program history to reach the 300-strikeout plateau and finished the year just eight strikeouts shy of the single-season mark of 317.


Her efforts this season propelled the Lakers to a 44-9 overall record, the GLIAC regular-season and tournament titles and the top seed in the NCAA II Midwest Region Tournament.


The Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year, Reisinger is earning D2CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year accolades after leading the GLVC with a .458 batting average. She finished the year with five doubles, five triples, 10 home runs and 37 RBIs; all while leading the GLVC in runs scored (49) and stolen bases (38).


Reisinger's efforts helped the Bulldogs to a 26-20 overall record, 15-13 GLVC, and a spot in the GLVC Tournament.


Lipovsky and Reisinger were joined on the All-Midwest Region first team by Grand Valley State senior pitcher Allie Grys, freshman first baseman Nikoma Holmen, senior third baseman Teagan Shomin and junior catcher Kaylie Rhynard; University of Missouri-St. Louis junior pitcher Carly Kingery and senior second baseman Jennah Perryman; Trevecca Nazarene University sophomore shortstop MaKray Odom; Hillsdale College junior outfielder Katie Kish; University of Illinois Springfield sophomore outfielder Lakyn Wagoner and senior utility player (pitcher) Ali Haesele; McKendree University senior designated player Brooke Gajewski; and Saginaw Valley State University senior utility player (non-pitcher) Courtney Reeves.


This marks the third straight year that Lipovsky and Reisinger have earned All-Midwest Region honors. All first-team honorees will advance to the national ballot for All-America consideration.


Earning second-team All-Midwest Region accolades was University of Indianapolis sophomore pitcher Lauren Honkomp; University of Southern Indiana sophomore pitcher Jennifer Leonhardt and sophomore outfielder Allison Schubert; Ohio Dominican University junior pitcher Abby Lamping; Missouri-St. Louis junior first baseman Chelsea Martinez; Saginaw Valley State senior second baseman Meredith Rouse; Illinois Springfield sophomore shortstop Erin Stroup; Ashland University junior third baseman Paige Summers; McKendree senior catcher Rebecca Franke and freshman utility player (pitcher) Miranda Gajewski; Northwood University senior outfielder Sydni Pauley; Kentucky Wesleyan junior outfielder Meredith Daunhauer; and Missouri S&T sophomore designated player Olivia Young.


The NCAA II Midwest Super Regional will be contested between Illinois Springfield and Southern Indiana May 17-18 in Springfield, Illinois.
