ELKINS, W.Va. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (26-14-1, 12-8 Great Midwest) split a pair of games from conference rival Davis & Elkins College (12-17-1, 7-8-1 Great Midwest). The first, a 6-3 loss, and the second, a 9-1 victory.

Neither team scored in the first inning … Caitlyn Hudgins homered to get the Trojans on the board in the second … D&E tied it in the bottom half of the inning … Megan Groves doubled in the third to bring in Danielle Horton … TNU led 2-1 after three innings … in the fourth the Trojans tacked on four more runs … Kelsey Seitz (FR/Milford, OH) reached by a fielder's choice allowing Tana Whited (SO/Lebanon, TN) to score … MaKray Odom then singled to bring in Kat Burbrink … Seitz scored when Danielle Horton reached by a fielder's choice … Mary Collins (JR/Collierville, TN) brought in Horton with an RBI single … the fifth inning saw three more runs for the Trojans … Kat Burbrink's single brought in Kallie Sohm … MaKray then doubled to bring in Kelsey Seitz and Kat Burbrink … TNU won the game 9-1 in five innings.

TNU has won the last eight meetings and leads the all-time series 15-1.
