St Ursula coach slowly dismantling proud program

The second year coach at St Ursula will have 1 more good team and then the well will dry up. And he will be filling it in. His disbanding of the Blues 12U program and lack of interest in the 14U program will destroy the once proud feeder program Julie Barber built. She knew that most of her incoming players were coming in from a very weak CYO program and took the bull by the horns and developed the Toledo Blues program. Her hard work and dedication to this program showed thru with many recent city championships and finally a state championship in her last year. Every girl on that team with the exception of Wiemer, Frobase , and Reichler came from the Blues. The new coach will not do anything with the feeder program and as the last of Barbers Blues players leave SUA will be no better than their Catholic counterpart Central who also has no feeder program. I'm glad my daughter graduated last year, Frobase, Tucholski, and Schultz could lift them into the top four in the city but NDA will ease their pain quickly. Barber will be missed in NWO and at SUA more than anyone thought, her commitment and aggressive style built a great program and it was destroyed in two years. Thanks Steve and Frank.

Re: St Ursula coach slowly dismantling proud progr

Coach Z said in 2004 before Julie left he was tired of dealing with the CYO parents and it would be the last year of a 12U team. Its sad really, Coach Sara Landry 12U really helped my DD out. Got her from the rec level to being able to play and contribute with a team like the Lady Irish. (Of course the Lady Irish coaches are in the process of taking her to the next level lol :) )

Both NDA and SUA need to get better feeder programs or they will be dominated in the future by the Sylvania Teams, who have outstanding feeder teams. Of course it helps that the Sharks have also helped feed NDA and SUA lol.
