Steel City Summer Slam Hotel Issue

Does anyone know where to get hotels in Pittsburgh for the Steel City Summer Slam tournament? It seems that the US OPEN golf is the same weekend and all the hotels are booked up or the prices have skyrocketed for that weekend. Is anyone familiar with the area that can recommend somewhere within a half hour drive or less? Any help would be appreciated.

Didn't have that problem with the "Slam" being in New Castle pa

The tournament this year was moved to the Pgh Roadrunners organization. You can try to contact one of the coaches in that organization.

Looks like you have to head further out, may have to drive over 30-40 mins.
There are some new hotels located off of Route 60 N in Beaver County. Easiest access to a major route to avoid traffic of golf event. I believe they are in the Monaca, PA address area. Further up also is a Holiday Inn on Route 18 just off Route 60 in Beaver Falls, PA. Again looking at 40-50 min drive.

Cranberry Twp area north off Route 79/Route 19 has ALOT of hotels but you'll deal with some golf run over, higher prices, and traffic.

Anyone know of what teams are playing in the 14u bracket?

We stayed in Poland next to Boardman last year. A little drive of about a half hour or so. We stayed at the Hampton Inn. Hope it helps.

Last year is when it was still in NEW CASTLE, PA and hosted by Rampage this year it is Pittsburgh hosted by a different organization.
You can also try contacting Zach Green since he is ultimately in charge of the NSA/WPA tournaments.
But you would have better luck contacting a Pgh Lady Roadrunner coach to help you out.

FYI - as stated the Steel City Summer Slam is no longer in New Castle but rather south and west of Pittsburgh - towards the Pittsburgh Airport in Kennedy Twshp. ?And since New Castle was mentioned above - folks should know that New Castle IS hosting a tournament this same weekend (6/15-17) - the only difference is it's a PONY qualifier tournament this year.

Should be the same fields in New Castle that the Steel City Summer Slam used in the past and the same fields used by the Rampage for the annual Fastpitch Fall Festival tournament.
