2015/2016 Tryouts
July 30th - 10u & 12u - 5:30-7:00pm
July 30th - 14u & 16u - 7:00-8:30pm
August 2nd - 10u - 1:30-3:15pm
August 2nd - 12u - 3:15-5:00pm
August 2nd - 14u - 5:00-6:45pm
August 2nd - 16u - 6:45-8:30pm
August 9th - same time schedule as above. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to register and warmup. Pitchers and catchers stay 20-30 minutes after designated time.
Tryouts held at Springfield Local High School - 11335 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road in New Middletown, Ohio 44442.
Indoor facility - The Streak has its own indoor facility "Streak Zone". It is located on route 14 in Columbiana, Ohio near rte. 46 & 11. The Streak Zone has room for all our hitting needs and defensive drills. The facility is a great asset in the winter months. Currently we are in negotiations to expand the facility. We also utilize two other hitting barns.
Outdoor fields - We are in the process of building a brand new outdoor softball field next to our indoor facility in Columbiana, Ohio. We lease two fields in Boardman, Ohio and another field in Columbiana.
Specialized training - Over the winter multiple college softball players were brought in to work with players. Speed and agility classes were offered multiple days weekly all fall and winter. These classes were provided by Damon Buente. Multiple hitting and pitching coaches use our facility. We had catchers clinics weekly and a triple threat softball program.
I will give a profile (below) for each team currently in the Streak Organization and information on the current year. I expect a few new teams to be formed and I will update things as they transpire. Our fees last season were $ 650 and included two sets of uniforms. Each of our teams is unique and some fall in the "A" class and some in the "B". There are girls from as far away as 100 miles. Some teams travel more and some stay local.

Teams
8u - New team in 2015/2016. It will comprise of 8u girls with the hope of them playing 3 years in the 10u division. Coach Mike Thorpe 330.540.1530 & coach Tim Johnston.
10u - Currently it is coached by Mike Kernan in their inaugural season. This team has 4 runner ups to date. Coach Kernan is the head coach at Ursuline High School and is a non parent coach. Coach Kernan has also ran the triple threat programs at the Streak Zone and is a valuable asset to the girls.
11u - The 11u team is currently coached by Bob Barbato. Bob is in his third year with the team and they are poised for a strong return. Last season the team captured three championships.
12u - This was the second year for this group and they have a core ready to grow. Currently coached by Jerry Filisky.
13u - Team competes well in there first year together. Many of their players have lots of travel experience. This is a very competitive team moving forward. Coached by Ralph Flowers and Dave Tohm. This team has a ASA Qualifier championship.
14u - Coached by Mike Thorpe and Rodney Thorn this team is back for their 5 year. With lots of softball remaining they have captured a PGF qualifiing championship and three runner ups despite having three tourneys rained out.
15u - Another team returning for their 5th year. The team is coached by Bob Druschel. A showcase team and very competitive. Many players are from he original Streak team.
15u - The Streak Orange team is coached by Frank Sotlar and is currently in their second season. Haley Thirion brings college playing experience to the staff as a non parent coach. Ended last season with a championship in West Virginia.
Again I will update these teams as their seasons end. I will update coaching staffs, team needs and contact information. We will also add the new teams that form.
