Whoa, a lot of keystone wildcat names as coaches for the sun dogs. Trouble in paradise?

As a current member of the SunDog organization I look forward to the benefits that Jim and his staff will bring along with them. We have been here for 3 years now and it was the best decision we have made getting away from our previous organization and the daddy ball that was so rampant. There have already been some very good teams in this organization playing some good ball and maybe just missing a piece of the puzzle and I think this will only help find those pieces.

Aren't most of the coaches listed above parents of players on the teams? Looks like that could be an issue. When was the last time a Sundogs team qualified for ASA/USA? The team from 2009 has no bearing on the teams of today. Are the teams planning on trying to qualify ASA/USA? I don't believe most of the teams above tried to qualify last year.

In 2010, the 18u SunDogs finished 13th out of 100+ teams in the ASA/USA Nationals in Hemut, California. In 2008, the 18u SunDogs finished 5th in ASA/USA Nationals in Illinois. You could not be more wrong that those teams have no bearing on the teams today. It is what we attempt to achieve, like everyone else does, but few have. Those that have achieved that type of success know what I am talking about. In 2013 the 10u SunDogs qualified for the ASA/USA Nationals but have elected to stay in Ohio and compete in the ASA Eastern to reduce expenses. Every year brings issues. It is how they are dealt with that sets organizations apart from others. Good Luck to all Ohio teams playing in National Tournaments.

I think that if you look at any organization, just about every coach started out as the parent of a player. I know for a fact that myself and our head coach are harder on our own daughters than any other girl on our team. Our 2011 team qualified for and attended the ASA Eastern Nationals in Virginia by the way. The past 2 seasons we have struggled with finding a dominant starting pitcher, hopefully this coming season will be different.

Don't think anyone was talking smack about daddy ball.. I think they were referring to the post stating they were getting away from it.. Most of the new coaches are parents of girls playing, if not all of them.. So I think that statement was misleading.

Im wondering if you saw the 10u Elyria Sundogs play this year? They dont need to rely on the past, they are paving
their own way and doing a heck of a job! They won several tournaments, and if im not mistaken were in the top 3
in the others. So "daddy ball" or not those coaches from Elyria must be doing something right, even Keystone wanted to get in on the action this year.

Get in on the action or get out of "Dodge"?
