I cannot make this up. My own 13 YO dd who plays center field when not pitching had a ball hit her way today. It was up pretty high and toward right-center so she had to go quite a ways to get to it. Still it's a catch I have come to expect her to make. Except this time it tipped off her glove. We had two outs and the next kid flew out to right so it ended up being inconsequential.
However, after the game with her mom standing there I said to her "so, what happened with that fly ball?"
Without missing a beat "THE BALL MISSED MY GLOVE!" Not sure if that's priceless, but it was a new one on me. I'm pretty sure we'll be laughing about it for a while....
