The Stingrays Gold will be adding a few players to our roster for the 2014 season. We kept our fall roster small so we would be able to finish the recruiting cycle giving our players the most visibility possible. Our team is a little different and certainly not for everyone. Our roster has players from different areas in Ohio and players from other states. The goal of this team is to expose our players to recruiting events that have colleges attending that are of interest to them. Because of this goal we play a schedule that includes 4 core events. Please check our website for the tentative 2014 summer and fall schedule. These events cover different regions of the country and historically attract coaches from every major college and conference in the NCAA. We then mix in other events to address regional recruiting options. We will play in two new events to us that have us VERY excited (fall 2014 and summer 2015).
All of our 2014 Grad teammates will play college softball in 2014/2015, and our last uncommitted 2015 player will commit soon. One of our 2016 players has already committed to an SEC school. We will be looking for 2016 and 2017 players that dream of playing at the collegiate level and have the drive to work toward that. Speed players and strong hitters will be at the top of our list. We would consider a skilled 2015 that was uncommitted, or one looking to play top competition this summer to continue to develop.
Please feel free to contact us for more information. We will be holding a workout (2) in the next 4-6 weeks. Those interested in a tryout would be asked to join us for one of those sessions. We know what we do is not for everyone. Ohio is very fortunate to have so many great options for fastpitch players at all levels. We think we have a lot to offer the driven, dedicated softball family.
