In your opinion, who are the top southern Ohio pitchers in the 16u catergory. I have seen some pretty good pitchers, but have not seen them all. I know the Doom 93 and Miami Valley express both have sme dominating pitchers, but have not seen many other dominating 16u in Southern Ohio.

I would have to put Emily Froment of the Ohio Wave 16U (Twin Valley South HS) near the top of any list of 16U pitchers in SW Ohio. You may not have seen her because we have not played any tournaments in the Cincinnati area this year but she has been solid at the ASA states, Lasers Invitational, Circle City Showcase and last weekend at Stingrays where she threw all 5 games and dominated in all of them. Her back to back performances vs. the Lasers White and Lasers Scarlet teams was awesome. 2 Hit shutout vs. Lasers White and a 4 hit tough loss vs. Lasers Scarlet 1-2 that was our only loss of the tournament.

EMR 16U has a very strong pitcher. A lot of people consider them an Indiana team but this one is Ohio from what I hear.

EMR 16U pitchers are Anna Eggleston (Mercy HS) and Jamie Ertel (McAuley HS). Anna has been lights out since she was 8. Jamie is a fireballer who unfortunately, is out for the year with an injury. I enjoy watching these 2 pitch unless it is against us in travel ball or high school (Kings).

Joed you didnt read the post. Mcqueen is 14u. Looking at the 16u. I know about Anna,Jamie, Benhase,Ware,Pearson. All all top notch pitchers. I know about the Ohio Wave also, i didnt know the pitcher was from cincinnati. Sounds to me by just looking at the committ's the Southern ohio area has some very nice top notch pitchers and all deserve their due.
Joed of course i would take anyone of them, they are the top. I am just wondering who is out there on a team that is not that popular, but is a top notch pitcher. We played a team called the Hammerheads this year. I really never heard of them, but very nice coaches and great girls, I believe they suprised me, they had some solid pitching.

I agree with Rich, EF is one of the strongest 16u pitchers we have seen this year.

I have seen most of the pitchers listed above. Without question the following are all solid:

Kelli Benhase
Sarah Pearson
Montana Wear
Sarah Alley

I have not seen the EMR pitchers yet this year but I have seen them in the past and they are very nice as well.

In addition I would add Sara Marrs to that list. Also I think that Emily Anderson is one to watch as well. She is on the Doom 95 but I will add her to the 16U list because they played up a number of times.

I'm sure that there are a few others that I have not seen so far this year as well.

I think she might be Tim Gregory's daughter.. but she is definately a finese pitcher.

I had her in Goshen last Fall and it took me an inning to get adjusted to her in what she was throwing. To which, in this game, was thread on the corner pitches.

I missed a couple in the first inning.. no doubt in my mind and not ashamed to admit it.

When the catcher moved outside... I made the mistake of doing so a couple times.. trying to see that outside corner for her.... only to get fooled and the pitch was thrown inside corner on purpose.

Nothing like standing in no where land with no catcher in front of you...LOL
