With rain being anticipated this weekend and playing in a 5 game guarantee and weather permitting what should be expected of TD when you only get 2-3 games in? Are the expectations that you will receive a partial refund or does the risk lay solely with the teams playing.

Most of the time the risk is with the teams.
The TDs have fixed cost with field rental and in some cases additional cost trying to get game in during wet weather. With that said we did have one TD that refunded money due to rain shorted at Beavercreek a few years back. All the rest we never seen anything back...

Don't call it a guarantee number of games unless you plan on giving refunds !!!!!
At a lot of these facilities parents and coaches are not allowed to work on the fields because they are city run . I have always recieved a refund when getting half of the games in or less except from one tourament which Ill never play in again if I have any say in it .

5 game guarantee weather permitting...there should be a break down in rules for refunds. It may say you get so much back if so many games were played.

I think everyone understands "no refunds" when they do their best to put on the tournament and are just dealt a bad hand by mother nature, but our tournament was canceled SATURDAY MORNING for the whole rest of the weekend. Sure are a lot of other tournaments in Ohio that found a way to play today.

All sanctioning bodies have a refund policy according to amount of games offered, if there is no refund policy listed when you register , then they should go by the sanctioning body refund policy. Normally 75% back if no games played.

This weekend we hosted a tournament. The tropical storm dumped a massive amount of rain Saturday. Our coaches and parents stayed until midnight working fields. Early in Saturday we asked all teams of they wanted to play Sunday. 32 of the 40 agreed to a single elimination blind seed tourney. We offered refunds as stated on our policy handed out to teams at entry. We were just a regular run of the mill tournament. No ENQ or anything like that. We want teams to enjoy the experience and return next year. If you run a tourmament, you run the risk of rain. Make the best of it & COMMUNICATE early and often. Stick to your policy and they will come back. Fail at any of these and you run the risk of losing them but takes along time to get rid of a bad reputation as a host.
