If your going to brag about placing well in a recent tourney and insinuate that you are a showcase type team, when posting on social media for tryouts upcoming in early July....

Be sure to include that your final placing was in the 'B' bracket for age group and only 6 teams total.

Truth in advsertising.

So wait a minute.. There was 2 brackets (X amount of teams in Bracket 1) & (6 teams in Bracket 2) so regardless they didn't finish in the Top half of the competition. Last place in Bracket 1 finishes higher than 1st place in Bracket 2. Correct? At least IMO.

I am very disappointed in knowing the team now. Lol

That’s just USSSA Sanctioned teams. There’s some teams I’m sure that’s strictly USA/ASA or strictly USSSA.

Regardless there’s a TON of Teams out there.
Every team out there probably has a couple good players too.

Another reason why only 7% go on to play college softball.

If you filter A sanctioned teams most of your higher level Ohio organizations pop up on USSSA. Yes, there is good players on B teams but the post is about false advertisement...Teams will not get into the invite / better showcase style events as a B level program.

The USA/ASA site is still BAD after all these years and changes, It is better than some of the other sanctioning bodies PGF, NSA, etc. but not even a close second to what USSSA has.
We never sanctioned B in anything above 12U but we were a true select travel team.
Over the years I would crack up at teams complaining on the OFC because they were not accepted to invite events and you see the coaches never really had any faith they could compete at that A level thus going with the lesser of the team classifications finishing 1st in the bronze division of the aunt Annie cookie and softball classic..

Parents need to do their homework. I like to break it down to organizations first. There are A B and C level organizations. There are less A level organizations than the others. Within C organizations you can have some decent B teams. Within B organizations you may have a C team scattered in but also an A teams in certain ages. The A organizations will have mostly A level but also some B level even though the coach may not agree with that assessment. Probably because they have B level coaching ability. Its not hard to figure out a team's true level with all the game scores that get posted on Game Changer, Tourney Machine, USSSA, and USA sites.

1st in the bronze division of the aunt Annie cookie and softball classic..

Hey does anyone have contact info for the TD for this event? I want to pitch him/her on switching it to USSSA....... :)

We are going to see if we can get an A/B program off the ground for 2023 primarily for the 10/12/14 teams. The idea is to give these teams a place to play competition based events without paying STP fees and crazy showcase entry fees (really does a team need to pay $675 to play better teams?). Like Cards said, our system is one of the best in the game for stats, etc. I find out more things by the day that it is capable of like posting MVP and All-Tourney teams in the players individual lockers. Now I just wish when I give those awards in an event that coaches wouldn't give me the runaround because they are afraid of ticking off some parent or they name there kid MVP no matter how she played all weekend. I don't know how many times a coach has said my whole team is the MVP this weekend....really coach? Are you that terrified of your parents?

Like me and Jeff have discussed before the showcase market is a tough place to break into. I wish we had marquee events like this on the schedule but when I share my ideas of not having stay-to-play or crazy entry and gate fees, the conversation is usually over at that point.

Mike, if you want to do that get with me. I have a great location with 6 lighted diamonds I would be more then happy to work with you and put together A/B team event. I would rather do all A teams.

If you ask me, let them brag. In a way, it's a hint of purpose, and having a purpose is a very good thing! :)

The cost if this tourney also came with NO gate fee and nice parks.

Uncle Charlie event June 25-26 most certainly did include a gate fee. $150 per team payable in advance.

Kinda the point I was making with the cost. I'd rather pay more in dues than the daily $$ hassle
