I must say, my biggest pet peeve is a girl showing up with a pink batting helmet. Add in a matching bat and batting gloves and I get nauseous. Usually on the 10u level mind you. But still...

Hopefully there is some "wiggle room" with the PINK bat....at the North Coast Nailbiter tournament last weekend, my dd won a 33" Demarini CF5 "Hope" Edition Breast Cancer Bat which IS white and pink :yahoo:

THANKS North Coast Spirit for holding the raffle to benefit breast cancer!

I have to say, I wear the cut T's all the time when I play ball. They are loose and allow me to move and they are nice and cool. I think the girls that wear the cut t's look tough, mean, and ready to play. I hope all the crazy, cut-shirt wearing, pink sunglasses wearing, make up wearing, bad a$$es get booted out of your tryouts and come to mine, I'll take them ALL!!!! :lmao: :yahoo: :lmao:

Exactly! They look tough, mean and ready to play. What is not to like in that?

Probably not a good idea, I know ours doesn't allow returnees, trying out to wear them. Think of it as a clean sheet with no judgement of who she played for. Not that should ever come into play, but subliminally who knows??

I'd look at it this way ... if you were interviewing with another company, would you wear clothes with your old company's logo? And if you were doing the interviewing of both internal and external candidates for a job that works for you, would you want the internal people doing that and leaving the external people with the impression that they had no chance?

love the point about sliding. you better show up at anything other than a 10y tryout able to bust booty and get down on a slide that doesnt look like a three stooges routine. Girls who can slide usually can run bases . great point by some previous poster. Our HS base running was horrible. just watched a video clip of our opening sectional game. girl on first , grounder to SS , she throws to second for a force. our girl goes in about 50% because she didnt prepare to slide. 2nd base drops the throw and we avoided an out . but our worst runners can't slide.

other point about ripped tee's . give me a break . our 14yr old freshman shows up at your 16u tryout in her normally ripped tee and sports bra and runs a 3.0 to 1st , hits a couple 225 ft shots, says she can pitch, catch , play IN or OF and you pass because because she has on a ripped tee ? laughable . I believe some girls do it to show that they're "travel worthy". (I was on a team last year...) Silly, I know. Either you got Mad Skills or you don't.

Funny story; years ago when my daughter was at a 14U tryout - back when every Ohio Ice team was strong - some girl shows up wearing an Ice uniform. Couldn't hit, couldn't throw, couldn't catch. I almost asked if she bought the shirt at a Garage Sale...
