Could we devide the tryout post into regions? The bumps are going over board and a post can be set back a page or two in a days time just from bumps. Just a suggestion

Hopefully we will see that kind of sort with the new messageboard.....

or at a minimum do not allow replies and force all the questions to go private.

I have enough trouble with teams putting 6-12 threads out there for the same tryout now.....

Hey Bear

Why don't you make a template that they can go by, with zone, phone, nearest city, region, home base so when its posted all that is on the post, and we don't have to go visit the website to see where and what

Re: Hey Bear

That's the basic information we ask for in the Team Registry section, but I agree it would be nice to see in the body of the tryout post.

Re: Hey Bear

I think it would be helpful if the tryout forum were organized similar to the Team Registry forum. If you're only looking for teams in a certain regions it would definitely cut down on the amount of time you have to spend wading through pages of tryouts and it would also help keep each team's tryouts nearer to the top. For example, if there were 20 teams from each region, you would only have compete with 20 teams for room on the first page of tryouts, instead of 80 teams from throughout the state.

Some of this will be addressed with the new forum software which allows you to sort the threads in several different ways, but I have considered the regional approach. ?For now, my suggestion would be to go to the Team Registry first, find the team(s) in your region, and then do a search on the Tryout Forum for the one(s) you're interested in. ?Think you'll find it easier than any other alternative, and it was the intent of the Team Registry - I've actually considered not allowing a tryout post unless the team was listed in the Registry, but thought the "softer" approach should be tried first.
