University of Akron Softball 2010-2011 Camps

Teammates for Life Camp ? Sunday, August 29, 2010 - 1:00 - 4:00
(ages 7 - 18: athletes grouped by age/experience)

- Come and sharpen your hitting, defense, pitching, and base running skills with the current UA team, staff, and many other UA alumni!!

- All proceeds will be donated to The Upside of Downs of Greater Cleveland in honor of UA Alumni, Tiffany McCoy-Yehle and her daughter Isabell!



Top Prospect Camp ? Sunday, Sept. 19 ? 2012, 2013 and 2014 graduates only!

- '12, '13 and '14 grads will receive skill instruction in the morning session and will have the opportunity to display their talent during 3 games in the afternoon session!!!

- space is extremely limited so sign up now! (66 spots total)



Zips Fall 9 v 9 Camp ? Sat. Oct. 9 & Sun. Oct. 10, 2010 ? 20 teams - 16U & 18U

- Each team will play 5 games on the UA campus and instruction from the UA staff.



Zips Winter 9 v. 9 Camp ? Saturday, December 4, 2010 ? 13 teams - 16u & 18 U

- Each team will play 4 games in the Stile Athletics Field House and instruction from the UA staff.



Zips Winter 9 v. 9 Camp ? Sun, December 5, 2010 ? 13 teams - 14U, 16U, & 18U

- Each team will play 4 games on in the Stiles Athletics Field House and instruction from the UA staff.



Preseason Skills Camp ? Sunday, January 20 , 2011 ? ages 7 ? 18 (grouped by age/skill/experience)

Had a wonderful experience attending the "Teammates for Life" camp yesterday. I have both a Rec player and a Travel player, and both received instruction and encouragement. Plus, the fact that the very reasonable registration fee was benefitting "The Upside of Downs" was incredible. Thanks for time put in at the camp!

I couldn't agree more! Every coach and player was wonderful with all of the girls. They took the time on a one on one basis when needed, and provided plenty of advice. A special thanks to coach JJ for working with my 8yo DD in the pitching section. Good luck to the entire team this upcomming season.

If you are a 14U team, I would highly suggest that you attend the 9 on 9 camp. The class by Coach Jones will give the girls a great perspective about the recuiting process and what college softball life is all about.

It will also open the eyes of all of the parents. The class alone is worth the entry fee.

coach jones does a good job describing the recruiting process. she should do a better job running her program. how many years will akron be lousy. most schools she would be gone already. it is a shame because the facilities are top notch

Being a bleacher fan and UA alumn, I think Jones does a great job overall. I know that even her parents don't agree with some of her base running instructions but she takes ownership for those questionable decisions. Listening to the other athletes in the stands, I hear much envy and wishes for coaches like her; the kind who push hard but stand up for their players and help them accomplish their academic goals.
