USFA WS, Panama City FL

Another day... another ball park. Part of playing in the USFA WS. Pretty cool to see but some parks are less desirable than others. Unfortunately part of the game regardless of what state you play in from what I can tell. I'm hoping to see the better parks as games get deeper into bracket play.

We just won 6-0. #21 threw another really strong game (1 hitter) and we had some killer defensive plays when they did hit her. 11k's, 1 walk. Tough!! Hit the **** out of the ball, everyone was hungry and showed great plate presence by working counts deep... If we keep that up life will be good. Play again at 11:00 am Thursday. Brackets are online now.

Kavin's team lost one this a.m. Not sure what he has next or details of the game from this morning... just heard since I have a 10u that plays for me and the other sister plays for him. Talk about a family driving all over Panama City Beach to watch softball!!

Lane's 14u team... yesterday they won 9-1, Today one first elimination game 2-1, and they play at 3:30. If they win at 3:30 they play again at 8:30.

errn026, Nice, 19 days. Jealous... We truly hope the ICE does well. I'm going to be looking up your brackets throughout next week.

When you or whomever is going to go the coaches meeting, pick-up enough of the little maps (tri-fold flier) that they have to give to all your parents. Has been a life saver for me not having to provide directions each time. And, it has a good coupon for a free entre for Friday's... I know, a chain restaurant but it's all money!!!

Bring it home for OHIO!!!

thanks. Haven't seen the powerhouse teams we expected but our record says otherwise. For a first year group of girls with the exception of 3 we are doing really well considering. We have strong pitching and when our bats are up and alive life is great!

we won our game tonight, game 2 today. Going into Friday game play!!!!! Glad after the ride we've had. We won 9-1 while blasting hits all night long with strong pitching from "no-no-no", she pitched another no-hitter, give up 1 walk. Had an error that eventually scored a run on a fielder's choice. Crossing our fingers for Friday's games. We have made it past the 50% mark of teams left and in our opinion pretty cool considering all of these teams are stacked with 3 yr experienced 10u's and play for 10 of 12 months (per the other coach's comments). One girl hit a home run and we had several doubles and a bunch of solid singles. Happy with out output all around. We play really well in the evening... can we play'em all after 6:00???;&:lmao:

well... up 4-2, 2 outs....other team is home team... we somehow let them load the bases.... and their no4 hitter hits a triple.... game over. Had the third out once with a routine hit to SS and we got caught up in the moment. Heck, they are 10 and I love them for that!!! SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR heart breaker seein' that bomb of a hit that got lodgd in a mud hole and caused us all kinds of issues diggin' it out. No appeal aloud either. Super proud our team of first year 10u's battling into the top teams. So, we are done and now on the beach. To my Statictonians...we love you and our expectations have been met this weekend and god bless y'all for come down to this wonderful oven to play ball. Loved every minute of it. We hit the ball pretty much all weekend and couldn't have asked for more. It is a game of inches!!!

Great job Les and 10u Static team! We'll try to do some damage down south as well. Heading down there tomorrow. Several have already left. Got 2 of 12 16u's with knee issues. Will be holding them out of pool play & hoping for the best in bracket play. Consider this my "honk & wave" as we drive past each other between here & there.

Just took a look at 12u bracket. Better watch out for that Ms Elite. They are a great little team. Amber played on that team before we moved up here. They have the pitching and some good hitters. The coaches down there really demand a great defense.

Terrible, they got caught cheating....Hot Bat was illegal, rolled bat, couldn't believe the audacity!!They got put into the loosers bracket,by a Ky Tm,The Heartland Rage, awesome game by both teams.Ms Elite was ahead 4-3 for the first 4 innings when a 2 run homer was shot over the LF just R of the Foul Pole.2 more runs put on the board by a base running team.Ga.Bandit put them out a decent game, when in the middle out the game someone or persons started suspecting it but couldn't put a finger on it,seemed like a few of the girls were using the hot bat, just seemed weird batters 1-7 solid hits almost crushing ball effects. Bat came apart on the Catcher.Head coach and Catcher booted /ejected.They didn't have another Catcher .Coach pleaded, saying it wasn't the girls or the Catcher he was at fault.Lot's of class shown by the Bandits. They continued the game minus the Head Coach,Catcher and a broken hot bat.Can not believe the Audacity luckily no one was hurt ,SS from Ky tm was pounded twice in the chest by some real rocket shot's makes you wonder if they were off of a Tampered bat????

Update:

Central Ohio Ice 16U - 3&2 & will now start our way through the loser's bracket; still remain optimistic; we have beat some very solid teams

Central Ohio Ice 18U - 2&3 but still in the winner's bracket; even got some air play on Channel 13 (ABC) since their 1st bracket game was against a local team; they play tonight at 630 pm vs the Louisiana Hurricanes.

Weather has been unbelievable - moderate temps for down here & little if no rain. We do expect an afternoon shower today, however.

More later.

Hey CubsFan, seen or played the Guelph Gators 18U from Canada? Coach's name is Vallance. If you have any info about how they are doing, that would be great.

Have to do this quick, since I need to jump on the road back.

16U went 4-3 for the week. Split yesterday. Sent the GA Crush home packing, but then the Nashville Wildthings did the same to us.

I think the 18U ended up 5-5, but won 'em at the right time to finish 3rd. Just left them after a 2-3 loss to the MS Eclipse.

Great (moderate) weather. Very little rain until the last 2 days.

More post-tourney commentary later.
