4th Annual - Central Ohio Fall Classic NIT - Oct 17-18, 2015.
USSSA - "The Road to Orlando NIT" - 2016 World Series Qualifier
John Bishop Park - Whitehall 43213. 2 separate ONE DAY EVENTS. Last year we had 36 teams.

We can take a max of 24 teams each day.

USSSA - 2016 World Series NIT event open to 10u/12u/14u-B for Saturday only event. Also open to 14u-open/16u/18u for Sunday only event. Berths awarded in a USSSA NIT are direct berths to the teams World Series of choice. This is available for 1st & 2nd place teams in each event.

USSSA does offer "odd year" age classes. Teams that classify as odd year(9/11/13/15) must have all girls with the same birth year or younger. If more than 2 odd year teams participate in a traditional age group bracket, there will be a odd year WS berth offered to the highest finishing team. If we can get enough to create separate pool play, than we will group those teams in the odd year pool. Teams will be placed in traditional bracket play to determine a tournament champion.

Entry fee is $325 for 14/16/18u teams. Also include $35 USSSA 2015-16 sanction fee if not already sanctioned. If you need to sanction, please click here: USSSA Team Sanction Info. TEAMS CAN ENTER WHILE THEIR SANCTION IS PENDING. There is a prepay discount of $25 if paid in full 30 days in advance 9/17/15 & 9/18/15. I can take $100 deposits to hold spots until 9/18/15. At that time, all fees must be paid in full to retain the discount.

PLEASE NOTE: USSSA STARTS THEIR SANCTION SEASON OVER AGAIN ON AUG 1. TEAMS WILL NEED TO SANCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 8/1/15 THRU 7/31/16. TEAMS WILL ALSO NEED TO BE AGE-ELIGIBLE FOR THE AGE GROUP THEY ARE PLAYING DURING 2016. EXAMPLE: A 14u TEAM IN 2015 MOVING TO 16u FOR THE 2016 SEASON WOULD HAVE TO PLAY IN 16u IN USSSA FALL TOURNAMENTS.

This tournament has been awarded National Invitational Tournament (NIT) status. This means that the top 2 teams in each age group regardless of entries will pick up a berth to a World Series of their choice. These are direct berths!

UPDATE:

With the turnout lower than expected for the 10u & 12u groups, we are going to do the following for those age groups; We are going to limit these to 6 teams and cut the entry fee down to $225. We are just trying to fill these so those age groups can have a place to play this fall and this should help fill these. With that being said the Lancaster Pride 03 have volunteered to move to 14u in case these groups do not make. If the turn out picks back up in 12u, Pride will be given the option to move back into the 12u group for the last spot.

We can go to 12 teams in the 14u - B/C and even start a little later due to the increased field space with smaller 10u/12u age groups. I'm working on the city of Whitehall for the corner lit field so we can have lights in case they are needed to finish.

Contact me if you would like to jump in this event. Where else can you get a direct World Series berth, awards both team and individual, and a one day tournament for $225?

First things: Pool games and start times are being built into the USSSA system and will be posted Thursday mid-morning. A couple of teams were making sure they had enough to be listed. I will send out emails to coaches with links for both days.

Second: I am pleased to announce that Karen Linder will be conducting a seminar on both days. The seminar is on Recruiting and the Process involved. I have attached a link for one she is hosting on Saturday in Hilliard to show topics covered. Karen will be in Pickerington on Oct 17-18 and then stopping by us in Whitehall both days later in the afternoon. If you get a chance, please feel free to stop in at either location. Karen is a 4 time MAC Coach of the Year from Kent State and this is worth the time to attend.

Pool and bracket times have been posted. Click on the link below to follow or check on times. A reminder: John Bishop Park allows parking on PAVED areas only. Anyone caught on the grass should expect the city of Whitehall to tow their vehicle. This has been in effect at JBP for years but some people choose to ignore this. Parking can be a challenge but there are lots west of the fields that are permitted to be used. Obviously if there is an elderly person or person with disability, the lot attendant at the senior center will allow for those persons to be dropped off near the fields.
