Tryout information: 16u
After having a successful summer we are looking for 2 maybe 3 girls (Utility/1 Pitcher) to round out our roster as we have 9 girls coming back for next season. We believe in working hard at practice, learning the game of softball, having fun with the game, being a team first player and giving max effort at everything we do translates to on the field success. This group has 5 girls that have been together for 3+ yrs and 4 going into their 2nd season with us. They have qualified for Nationals 4 years in a row (ASA, NSA & USSSA) and have won their State tournament 3 yrs in a row. This team also represents 6 school districts between Tuscarawas and Stark County. We are excited for the future of the girls.
For winter practices we will utilize a place we call the Barn in Dundee for Batting/Pitchers/Catchers, speed and agility training and Garaway High School in Sugarcreek for Defense/Pitchers/Catchers and more speed/agility and conditioning.
This team is managed and coached by Rick Johnson who is coming up on 8 years experience with fastpitch and 12+ years of coaching. Assistant coaches are Kim Beckley, Steve Renner and John Peltz who all have 8-10 years experience with fastpitch.
We are looking for players that want to work hard and give max effort, learn the game, have fun with the game and are Team First Players...
Tryouts/Workouts will be:
Tuesday: 8/2 - 6:30-8:30
Thursday : 8/4 - 6:30-8:30
Saturday: 8/6 - 10:00-12:00
All tryouts will be held at our outdoor facility located by the Harley Davidson store on SR 39 in New Philadelphia. If coming from 77 N, turn left off the New Philadelphia exit, 77 S, turn right. Then the first right is SR 39. Turn right into the parking lot just past Fuller Auto sales and follow the drive thru the back.
