Len,

I am very proud of the girls and coaches. It was a great experience last year. Tell the girls to take it all in.

Tell the girl that i am so proud of them.

AHHHHHH! Yes we did lose 2-1. Everygame has a script and this one just didn't play out our way. Good team from Latin America but we had the tools to get the job done. We had a couple of small slip ups on D. They played us deep which was a good idea. We hit a few shots very hard in important situations but right to them.

Sad ending for us but the whole ESPN experience was great for the girls. They had a blast all week and being on national TV was the topper. We're just all very sad we couldn't bring it home to all of the locals here in Ohio and especially to the watch parties at BW3 in Elyria and Scoreboards in LaGrange. Thanks for all of the support.

Great game to watch, kept thinking the Ohio girls would break thru but that kid from PR just kept painting the (rather large) outside corner. She was good and her team played tight D behind her. Great game to watch.

Was neat to see the hitting styles of Bill Lilly( or someone that works with him) show up --If I'm wrong call me out but that hands forward as the pitcher winds up going into the slot as she delivers ..... that looked like several of the slammer girls approach. interesting way to time up the hard throwers. ESPN said that girl was only throwing 55 or so , looked much harder to me, but they did'nt show pitch speed last night did they ?

Congrats to Elyria, great run. MD

My DVR cut it off in the top of the 7th. I didn't know it was live or I would have extended the recording. Oh well... nice game Elyria. One question, though. How can kids from different high schools and cities, Elyria and Lagrange (Keystone) play Little League together? I was under the impression (in the U.S.) they all have to live in one community.

I look forward to watching at home and seeing that strike zone. Our kids would almost never take a third one outside so it must have been out past the edge pretty far. We had to adjust though and didn't.

The geographical boarders for Little League are established in your little league charter and you must stay within them.

I had the same question ohluv. Alo, if these girl are playing travel, how are they participating in a local little league program. I am asking these questions not knowing the LL program, just curious. Still a great accomplishment, not meant to bash the girls, town, or organization. Thanks.

I think you can legally get around the restrictions by submitting to LL your own "geographic boundaries" and as long as the girls play a few games together they can qualify. Did'nt the annoucers say they had only been together a month or so. MD

We had a chance to play Len's team a couple of times this year. They have a girl on that team who is as good a hitter as I have ever seen. She hits as if she was wacking a golf ball with a 3 iron.
What is it about kids from Elyria? Sito and now another to take her spot.

Len,

It was a proud moment indeed. As long as I have known those girls, I would expect nothing less. Congrats on everything.

To answer JIMHAMRICK'S question-the girls are allowed to play LL as well as travel. The LL games are during the week. As long as they participate in half the LL games by a certain cut off date then they can be selected for the all-star team. The team can't begin practicing with allstars until a certain date either. These are all LL rules. Some of them appear strange, but they want no fair advantage to anyone.

Keith Buckley and Len are amazing people and coaches. My DD had the honor to be on a team with both of them (different years) and she loved every minute. They know how to motivate without stressing a girl out.
