It has to be at least 8 or 9 years years ago Patty retired from ASA / running the park and moved down to take care of the family business in Cumberland Ky. Donnie was still in the area working with the REDS youth academy and coaching a HS team last I heard.

The early 2000s Patty did a great job with hosting a premiere showcase event in the Cincinnati NKY area. One would be hard pressed now to find an event in SW Ohio / NKY that had the draw that Sluggerfest did getting top teams from OH, IN, ILL,KY, TN, PA, WV, MI etc.

Good video from 2007

We alway played in Slugfest it was one of the best tournaments in Ohio for years. I believe Patty also sponsors a team but I can’t remember the organization name.

Sluggerfest always was a good time and she worked hard to make sure teams from the same area did not play each other in pool games.

Patty and Donnie ran a training facility in Reading Ohio in the early 2000s (if I remember correctly it was the fastpitch dugout). She also was busy being the SW OHIO ASA fastpitch director out at Rumpke with Don Saylor who did the slow pitch side. They truly made SW Ohio softball what it is today.

I think she had connections with the Ultimate's and Tribe organizations not sure if she sponsored them though. She did help coach Colerain HS with their 2009 Final four run as well. Since her daughters accident I do not think she is doing anything outside of the family business now.

I know Sluggerfest goes back as far as 1993 when Chris Miner teamed up with Patty to put on Sluggerfest--it was at Schmidt Fields along the river and not too far from Riverfront Stadium. It was quite the show with teams from all over and certainly an eye-opener as to the number of teams that were willing to travel. I may be wrong, but I do not think there any other fast pitch tournaments around at that time in the Cincinnati area-- I know there were none in the Dayton/Springfield area and led me to start tournaments in Beavercreek in 1994. And in 1993 there were rain delays. My 14U daughter pitched a 2-o shutout at 130AM on Saturday morning.

I never knew anything about her Daughter being in a Accident. I remember her family I hope she recovered.

Played Sluggerfest and knew Patty way back in the day. Always was a great event but some hot humid days down along the river
