Instead of swinging two bats, my daughter has been thinking about using a donut for her CF7, do you think it is okay for bat? Since it is a two piece worried about the extra weight, thoughts.

Weight isn't going to hurt it they don't weigh 10 lbs. However I'm not a fan. I say swing what your going to swing in the box. Game is about timing and the weight isn't going to make her swing faster. She can develop a lot of bad habits with it if not swinging properly while practicing with it.

A lot of research has been done that shows that you should swing a bat that is no more than or no less than 3 oz in difference from the weight of your game bat. Any change in weight greater than that has shown to have a negative effect upon hitting mechanics. Search Coop Derenne on google if you'd like to see some of the research,

It doesn't really matter as most sanctioning bodies and tournaments will not allow you to use them in the on deck circle. So unless you plan on using it for practice, don't waste your money.

I don't believe donuts are allowed in high school ball either unless that rule has changed in the last couple of years.

They are illegal in high school. They wont stay on the bat, a softball bat is straight while a baseball bat continues to flair out for a good portion of the barrel area. I have seen more than a few fly off before I noticed they were using them. There used to be a weighted sleeve you could put on a softball bat, but dont know if it is available anymore.

hand weighted gloves are what Howard recommends. Many articles/posts have been posted on this topic over the years. Most lost in the "crash" I'm sure.
