What its all about....

So this past weekend my DD HS team (Fairless) played there league rival Tuslaw. For most sports there is no love loss between these 2 schools. As soon as the first pitch was thrown the skies opened up and mother nature put a stop to things. After about 45 minutes or so the rains stopped and the field was good to go, but it's what happened during the rain delay that i enjoyed more than any game. Both teams came out in front of the Fairless dugout and danced and sang together for about 25 minutes or so. Girls just being goofy, not caring what people were thinking and definitely not caring about any rivalry between them. Just a bunch of kids enjoying themselves with other softball players, and realizing its just a game at the end of the day. Granted we took a pretty good a$$ stomping that day, but thats not what I'll remember about this weekend. Just another great memory for the bank, I truly do love this sport and the girls that play it. Ive got video of it, just gotta figure out how to get it on here..... lol.

Too cool and that's what the memory will be. One of mine is helping coach this year and she states to the girls when they strike out or something, trust me I know very well, you will not remember that strike out a year from now..... But those girls will remember that dancing!

LOL.......I agree, that's got to be the best. The LL team I helped coach as a VERY young man used to crack me up. In the third inning of a game they're taking off their shoes to compare feet, arguing about the best ice cream......all kinds of silliness! Some of which I'll never forget......always brings a smile to my face. I still see a few of those kids around once in awhile and grin to myself knowing they won't remember but I do!!!

Love it! I'm glad you shared because I think stuff like this is what it's all about! In the end, the girls don't remember who played where, how many hits, errors, etc., but they do remember the fun stuff. Thanks for the great example!

thats definitely what its all about! have experienced the rain delay dances a few times over the years! The cold and rain can sometimes bring out some pretty special memories!!
