Why pictures at a tournament?

I had a parent ask me tonight why they should get pictures of their kid in action?

Apparently this parent never played an organized sport.

Having played baseball, basketball, volleyball, fastpitch softball, and boxed I would have loved professional action shots. I do have them in fastpitch softball, and boxing, but they aren't professional, but they are great to show the kids that their father did do something other than chase women when he was younger!

How many other parents regret that they don't have action shots to show their kids. Most parents just have those static shots where we're just posing!

Not only will you enjoy the pics today, but 30 years from now your kids will enjoy them when they can show their kids where their athletic ability came from!

I love the action shots. I don't have any of myself when I played years ago, but we have them of the kids and they love to see them. It also helps show them what they are doing right and wrong sometimes with their positions.

I wish there was more of the Coaches action shots, you know......

#1 RED in the face coach after trying to get the runner to third and runner was just watching the play at first
#2 Hands on head coach after batter looks at ANOTHER called Strike three
#3 The ever popular coach on the "bucket" shot
#4 Spit spraying coaching after arguing call with base umpire

Thats what memories are made of, MAN what good stuff those action shots would be

Checkout the shots I took at your game from Early Bird and Spring Blast Tournaments. I got some nice and not so flattering shots of the coaches! LOL!

I forgot about the correctional value of the pics. Coaches in all sports use my pics for that reason alone!

my dad started a sports album back in the 60's when we had a "family" slow pitch team and by family i mean brothers sisters, brothers in law and sisters in law and a couple of adopted members, my mother :in her 50s at the time: was the pitcher and they won the league they played in. album progressed to include my brother who was all city baseball and my daughter who played on the east high fastpitch team that won city league for ms lewis, then on to his greatgrandaughters travel teams, one of them won world series in indianpolis for ice 12u. when he passed, my mom said whoever wanted the album could have it, they actually had arguments over who was to get it.. by the way my dads little league team won the state championship in the 60's....the pics are priceless...

I think they question would be more like why not? I am one of those moms that takes so many pictures that the kid get irritated.lol. I have been slacking so far this spring (we have had 2 tournaments and I didn't take any yet). But I generally take between 2-300 a weekend and weed out the bad ones. I have so many actions pics of them between all their activities, now I just need a camera that is equipped for sports...lol...someday. Some day you will regret it if you don't have pictures. I keep telling my daughter who hides from the camera that she will be sad one day that she hid all the time.
