State Championship has my vote. But without travel ball player's you don't win one.

Great posts here.
I agree with many. ? In my opinion I think the State Championship is best for the community But getting there would not be possible without the travel ball players as has been said before.

Viper...."I think both are equally important and I would bet if more HS Coaches and travel ball Coaches would slip their ego's into their back pocket and work together both would benefit their respective programs. "

Well said.. I could not agree more. It is a shame I think that there isn't more HS coaches being more involved during the summer if not coaching but getting their girls on or playing on a travel team.

Prior to going to the Danger tournament this weekend, I stopped by to watch one of my MS players in a game at Upper Arlington. ?I introduced myself to the MS coach and she was an amazing person. ?I thanked her for the work she done with OUR player and she told me of how impressed she was with OUR player. ? It is good when two different coaches can share the pride on a player's development. ?

I use to be a HS coach as well as a current travel coach. ?I appreciate all who coach and ?to compare one to the other is comparing apples to oranges. ?Travel coaches have tryouts and can choose from a number of girls where HS is limited to the girls that are enrolled at their school. ?Any HS program that is successful can be attributed, to a large part, not only to the quality of the girls, but also to the quality of the coach. ?Anyone can look good when handed a diamond... but those who can squeeze a lump of coal into a diamond really gets my appreciation. ?I tip my hat to those who do that year after year.

So Johnnies, with you coaching travel and school ball, as a coach, which one would have been more meaningful or rather more exciting for you as a coach?

We have been fortunate to get close at both. Both were amazing experiences. It's kinda like the chicken and the egg, (HS vs Travel), you can't have one without the other.
