Just what it says... the tournament is a qualifier for a World Series type tournament (in this case the NSA Nationals). If you win, or place high enough in the tournament (the bigger the tournament the more likely there are to be extra berths available to the WS) then you receive a "berth" or invitation to play in the national event.

To add, in the state of Ohio, if you are awarded an NSA World Series berth from a Qualifier tournament, you must participate in the NSA State tournament or the Alternate NSA State tournament in order to participate in the World Series. ::)

If you are awarded an NSA World Series berth from a Nationinal Invitational Tournament (NIT), you do not have to participate in the State Tournament, or the alternate. ?You just got a pass directly to the World Series :) These tournaments are few and far between. One, maybe two in the state of Ohio per year.

So, if you just earned your berth, I am assuming from a Qualifier, then remember to register for the NSA State Tournament in Tealtown by the June 16 deadline or the NSA Alternate State Tournament in Brook Park (don't know of a deadline).

The following was a paid NSA advertisment. ?(not really, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night)
