Before I go spending more $$$$ on a softball bat, any feedback on the new 09 Rocket Tech would be appreciated. I am going to purchase a Tech, but undecided on a 08 vs. 09.

Not real sure about 09's but, the 08's had paint problems (chipping and peeling) after the first swing. I would suggest for performance go with 2004,2005, or 2007. Just my 2 cent$

04/05 best buy for your money, 07 was first year after they were dumbed down, alot of returns on the 07, i would expect 08 and 09 to be pretty simular in quality, The Rip it Force is a nice little end loaded bat. smaller end load swings almost like a balanced bat,I would stay clear of the Triton, it vibrates realy bad
The best bat on the market today for end loaded is the cf3 , I dont know the particulars of the end load but has the same pop a 04/05 R/T did but without the cold weather restrictions cap pin issues or denting.

I know of at least three college teams going with the CF3, so it seems to be winning over players.

Got the CF3 for DD for Christmas.. It took some time to get the swing down with it, but it has proved to be a very worthy bat. She did well over the weekend at Spano with it. So I have to agree with Boulder and SB on this being a top bat for 09'

RT 09 seems not to have the paint issues and my dd said the pop is back. 5 dingers will do that though lol

Thank you. DD swung a balanced bat last summer, Worth Mayhem (good bat) and switched to an end loaded bat in the Fall, a Phenix. She says the Phenix is not a forgiving bat as some others, is the CF3 the same?

The cf3 is a very forgiving bat if she hits the ball off the sweet spot, just be warned it has a different feel when connection is made vs the R/T , dd said the first few times she connected she almost had to pull her head up early to make sure she had hit the ball, said she diddnt feel it come off the bat, so a few swings for adjustment might be in order lol.
I appoligise that i can not tell you the end load weight vs the R/T but at this time it must be a government secret, because no one is willing to discuss it, so make sure if the switch is made that the new bat is comparable in size
Rumor also has it that the 09 will be dumbed down vs the 08 cf3, hope this helps

Shock,
My dd has the 09 RT. I got it for her last May. At first she didn't care for it, because I got her the 33/24. As the season went on, she got to like it more and more. Now it's all she uses. She loves it.

Does the 09 RT have the same pop as the 04? Or close to it?

I think you will find no one believes that any of the bats match the 04 or the 05 RT.

bh2424gh is correct , only bat like I stated earlier is the cf3 that comes close, the 09 is waterd down compared to the 04 R/T but heck almost any bat made today is. Wich is why ASA said dumb em down or stop producing them.

My dd got the 08 RT 31/21 I believe it is( she's 5'1" and weighs 97lbs) last year. She stuck with her 07 most of the season, didn't quite have her muscle memory down with the 08 but has been using the 08 a lot since fall. I think she has a beautiful swing with that bat, and she has had some pretty nice hits against some pretty good pitchers with it so far. It did chip up pretty quickly but she doesn't care about the paint. She just likes that she's hitting good with it.
