The Huricanes were undefeated all weekend long

They took the WIN, but gave the Nationals USA/ASA to the runner-up, Explosive Black

NOTE: 10u semi's and finals couldn't be completed due to rain, lightening and storms etc.... in the middle of the last semi final game, North Coast was beating Valley Extreme before weather stopped it so they got the win without finishing the game. Grand Slam did not have a loss and beat North Coast earlier today so they got the win in the finals too without playing. OVER ALL - SAW / PLAYED SOME GREAT GAMES THIS WEEKEND and we had a blast!

Valley Extreme beat Stingrays 96 in the first game to force a second game. However, after lightning delays, it went to a coin flip with Valley Extreme winning the flip and the bid to Alabama.

Great job though to both teams. Stingrays were 6 and 1 over the weekend and put up 67 runs in 7 games.

As far as I know, all ASA/USA qualifiers in Ohio only offer 1 berth per age group regardless of the number of teams entered. The exception is the state tourney which I believe offers 4. If you are serious about wanting to qualify for ASA/USA in Ohio, you pretty much need to plan your schedule around the state tourney.

Got to play the Huricanes and Explosive Black in 18U both are good teams that will represent Ohio well.

Cleveland Metro only had 1 berth before it merged into Ohio ASA a few years ago. I believe there was an agreement for Ohio ASA to run a qualifier in the Cleveland area after the merger with the additional berth it got from the addition of Cleveland registrations. The only way the number of berths would vary by the number of teams entered would be if Ohio ASA decided to use it to determine the distribution of its 5 berths.

@coachjwb - Region 9 qualifier has 2 berths for Class A (Gold only has 1).
