Our girls played last weekend at the USA- Sheer Madness Showcase. The tournament was run very well, had top notch umpires, and the competition was great. The dream seam balls that were used there were terrible.

One of the umpires and I compared one right out of the wrapper with a different ASA stamped ball from my bucket, which had probably 500+ hits on it, and it was soft. We were actually checking bats in our dugout for damage before we started suspecting the balls. All the balls were new for the tournament, but I saw multiple balls removed from rotation for being out of round..... never remember seeing that happen before.

A little disappointing to pay for an expensive, stay and play tournament, and have your hitters loosing confidence at the plate because the ball comes off the bat like a wet tomato. All the teams were using the same balls, so there isn't much to complain about, and our girls made the adjustment and did well. Just thought I would bring it up here so that it might get back to USA Softball as a point of improvement.

I do not like the USA dream seam balls, they are soft. In one of our games after receiving the ball from the pitcher the catcher turned around handed the ball to the ump and said this ball is oval shape. The ump proceeded to toss out the ball.

Pioneer 01 brought up the very same issue with the Dream Seam balls at Laser Nation.
As I noted before, Dream Seam balls by Rawlings and Worth are used by NCAA. Were they Rawlings or Worth balls?

Worth no longer exists. They were bought by Rawlings. They are also more expensive since Rawlings bought them out

Dream Seams are absolutely JUNK! I have bought Champro TFP ASA stamped balls for the last two seasons and LOVE them. They keep their compression and have not had one break down or get out of shape yet. Sterling are great as well!!
