Laser red might want to " batten down the hatches" as well, I'm sure some coaches will be looking to pick off some of there players while they are down. I'm sure there is a team out there looking for a catcher!

Personally, I wont say they are down and out, would say they are still top ten, but we will find out on the field.

Playing with the 98 Firecrackers - Brashear out of Chino, Ca

Firecrackers were ranked #1 in Ca before the addition rich get richer . So the Lasers do the right thing and try to dispell the notion that Ohio teams have a hard time winning against Ca's best, they fly out there and play twice , and a month later their ace lands with one of the teams they are trying to beat ?

It is my understanding (from reading the earlier posts) that there was a personal family issue that made the family move to Cali. They stated they will miss the Ohio folks. It did not sound like she was recruited.

Maybe we (Ohio) are trying to gain to a new Rep since we are having a hard time shaking the old one (can't win a natl' title ) we are trying to supply the rest of America with missing pieces so they can be the best --- See Firecrackers , Bandits, NJ Intensity, Florida this , Indiana That and on and on S U C K S !!! First of all ... We can't wait to play you guys 2 times more in PP like we have scheduled... those will be fun.

I am having a hard time 'placing' Red .. they lost the best pitcher in OH - how do you rank them #1 still until they play the teams in the list and show they can keep it? I don't think you guys, us or classics to name a few are 'that' far behind them that without her we can't beat them - we will have to see and do it though.

IMHO the Classics are #1 for now - 5 other teams are just behind them .. while we won on sat, I think we have to do it again for us to pass you guys. One win or loss is not the answer, the body of work is.

Honestly, the top 6 will move all over the place over the summer, a surprise team may come up I am sure and join the top 10... I hope they do!

This group of '98 teams and coaches are special .. I am amazed at the things other coaches shared with me and I hope with them .. we all want to win, but we like each other and root for each other, I spent over 6 hours on the phone w/ you guys since the tourney sharing thoughts, talking shop, etc.. Eric, when you called me Sun morning and we talked about the 'reason' we do this for the girls and what is the right way vs wrong way - hit home with me ... I see that in the coaches and teams here.

I told Matt today - we need to committ to work togther between now and 14u season to take 4-6 STRONG OHIO teams to ASA NATS and compete... how cool would that be? We all root for each other.. to do that we need to train, play and push each other.. this was a step in the right direction ... let's make it happen...
