Please note that in Post Number #2 is the list of teams. Now, I will begin getting in touch with the entered teams this week to get this filled in two weeks so I can get the schedules out early to everyone.
All the teams that are "thinking" about the tournament... come quickly please and fill this tournament as I have a lot to get ready this next four weeks for this tournament.

I know that Chillicothe is waiting in anticipation for the teams to come and the rec league director (which Chilly has many) is letting her rec teams know that you gals are coming and want to get their girls some vision of travel ball teams and their experience.

Please watch the thread as I will be posting many things on here in the next two weeks concerning the tournament. I have many of the teams e-mails and will be also in touch that way, of course.

I am looking for 18u teams who are entered on Sunday, to come play on Saturday as well in a $130.00 tournament (balls and umpires) fees only as the Kalamazoo Krush is looking to play on Saturday to fill their weekend with ball since they are willing to travel so far to come play and I can understand that. I need three teams (18u) willing to do that for the Krush.

I will be putting an entry form on here for the teams to get off of here and send with your registration and check for the tournament. That cost is $380.00 which includes your NAFA Sanction fee for 2009. There will be plenty of NAFA next year and don't feel that your sanction fee is just for this one tournament. Actually, there is one now scheduled for Boardman's Field of Dreams on October 25th and 26th which is a National Invitational Tournament and Goshen, Ohio on Novemeber 1st and 2nd which is a National Invitational as well. Next year, the state tournaments are divided into North and South to hopefully save the teams some travel money except with 18u and 16u which is to be played in Zanesvlle, Ohio and run by Mr. Moorehead of the OFC fame. He has kindly accepted running the tournament for me. More on that later.

Just watch for new teams and filling this tournament within two weeks. I want this ready to go for the teams and the college coaches that have been invited. If ANY of the 16u and 18u teams know of any college coaches out there that I might not have gotten ahold of... please feel free to contact them about the tournament. This week, I will be contacting them once again and giving them the list of teams entered into this year's event. Coaches, have your packets ready for e-mailing as I will posting the college coaches that are coming and their e-mail addresses so you can forward it to them prior to the tournament. This is why I want to get this scheduled out early.

Come jump on in teams. You can always call me at home at 513-575-3330 and I answer all e-mails beginning at 9:30 a.m. each morning (except Sunday). Personally, I would call as the open slots are getting smaller. Leave a message .. please give me a team name, age group, day you wish to play and a telephone number where you can be reached. I know I am going to Chillicothe to meet with city reps this week for two days and will be retrieving my calls as well on those days. Off on vacation this week so I can work at getting this showcase a rolling.

Let every team know about this tournament and lets fill it.

Any of the Sunday 16u teams want to play up on Saturday in the 18u division.... then jump on in so the Kalamazoo, Michigan Krush can have a full weekend of ball. Afterall, all you are paying for is the umpires and balls for a total of $130 for three games. Give the girls some experience playing up at a minimum cost.

Also, someone asked..... we are having the game times 2 hr apart. Time slots are 9 am, 11 am, 1pm and 3 pm. We play the full game for the girls . NO partial games and no time limits except in the 10u division ... which is 1:40 minute - no new inning to start.

Gets dark early in October.....lol... Have fields inside the older park that have lights as back ups if it should rain or whatever on either day .

I'm excited about this tournament.

Hey Quakerman, what park(s) exactly (address, please) will the games be played? If we can't enter our team this time around, we may bring some girls up to watch a few games.

Thanks!

Yoctangee Park Annex is where it is going to be played. You have the older park (Yoctangee Park) and the newer park right next to it called Annex.

The main fields are in the Annex and the back up fields with lights if needed.. is in the old park.

As for a physical address... I can't find one on Goggle and I have a messsage in right now. Actually at 11 am, I am leaving for Chillicothe to meet with Lissa Cleary and the Park people to get everything in line for this tournament. I am going to get directions on how to get to the Park from all roads leading into Chillicothe so the teams and parents can print it off of here. NO gate fees and NO parking charges as this is a public park. Hope everyone who isn't playing comes watch the tournament. The concession stand is being run by a friend there in Chillicothe who raises money for the Police Athletic League, a wonderful cause for the girls and parents to support.

I am excited about this year's event. This is my favorite tournament for the girls. After last year's thrilling win by the Phoenix 14u in the seventh and two outs with a comeback win... and the girls jumping all over each other because they won uniforms.... that is what makes it all worthwhile to me.

Sounds awesome! I hope to get our teams involved in NAFA in 09', since it appears there are some local events to take part in. Can you tell me what tourney dates (NITs, Qualifiers, etc.) you have set up for Southern/SW Ohio for the 2009 seasons?

I know the Southern Ohio State 14u is in Goshen, Ohio. The 12u and 10u Southern State is in Greenville, Ohio. The 16 and 18u State ( Both North and South) is in Zanesville, Ohio and being ran by Mr. Moorehead of the OFC.

The 8u State Championship is to be held in Goshen. This will cover both North and South. In 2010, the 8u will be in a Northern Ohio Location

The Northern Ohio State 14u is in Boardman, Ohio at the Field of Dreams.
The Northern Ohio State 12u and 10u is in the process (Sylvania and Marysville)

The Rec State Tournaments are all in July. I have negotiations this morning over the locations.

Thank you Flaming Fury out of Parkersburg, WV for your entry on both days in the 16u. The Klash appreciates you jumping up and playing with them on Saturday.

Thank you Ohio Freeze for the same entry for Sunday in 18u as well as playing Saturday for the KLASH girls.

Buckeye Heat 18u... I saved you a spot out of respect for being a member of last year's tournament. I got your PM from the OFC. Please let me know asap. You know I want your girls to come down and play. At least in this year's event there aren't just two of you....lol....like last year.... Takes time to build it up. Where are those Stingrays 18u ? Everyone wants a piece of them....lol.... Love those Stingrays

Why didn't someone tell me it was the Klash not the Krush. I had it right when they entered... too many Crush's...lol

Lissa will be printing the directions on here for the teams from all roads leading into Chillicothe.

Please, if you need motel rooms.. ask Lissa at tourism4u@aol.com. We had a wonderful meeting yesterday to get things ironed out for this tournament. The city is paying for the fields, union workers for the fields, diamond dry as well so I CAN give out the uniforms to the girls as prizes as this is a non profit tournament I love to hold.

I am sure the teams respect that from the businesses of Chillicothe.
Next year, I hope that this tournament only cost $150.00 dollars for the teams. That's my goal as State Director. One day I want it to be free. I'll get there. Corporate sponcers is the key. I have two so far.

Thank you Klash for working with us for coming down for the tournament. And thanks to the teams willing to play a round robin with them on Saturday as well. I could understand the thought of it being tough to come down for one day (Sunday) from Michigan. You teams jumped in for the Klash girls. Thanks.

Now where is that New York team that wanted to play the Klash? They are in... are you?

If you go to the entries list on Page 1.. you will some movement by teams to different days. WV Wild 1's 14u and 12u moved to Sunday.

Thank you Buckeye Elite from Lucasville for your three entries in 14u, 12u, 10u. 10u is in for Saturday. And when we spoke last night I thought I ONLY had Sunday... but with the movement of the Wild 1's to Sunday.... now I have both days available to you. Will call tomorrow to find out which day you wish. You have first choice as I only have one opening each day...

Crush Fastpitch 14u cannot make it but the 10u is in for Saturday.
