It was great to be able to see the game on television at a decent time of the night.
Congrats to Joey A. and the whole group of wonderful young ladies who comprise the WORLD CHAMPION Akron Racers!!!
Little Slammers of North Canton luv the Racers!!!
Ohio Crush wants to congratulate the Racers for clinching the title. Your influence on our team and all of the girls who play fastpitch softball in NE Ohio is great, and an aspiration for all of them. Keep up the good work!
Will Mayor Don authorize a ticker-tape parade down Main Street from Canal Park to Firestone Stadium????? Will there be 5,000 screaming fans at Firestone Stadium to welcome the bus home??? This is Akron's FIRST major sports championship since Fritz Pollard led the Akron Pros to the NFL title ?(actually, American Professional Football League at the time) in the first year of the league's existence
Congatulations from the Valley Extreme Girls !!!! Way to hit the finch!!!! We loved watching you girls play this year. Can't wait till next year. Get our tickets ready Megan.
Scoreboard!! Way to go racers !!
congrads to the Racers, great group of ladies, and ball players
Congratulations to the Racers! Great game!!! It was wonderful to be able to watch it on TV.
It's just too bad that some of the major Cleveland news channels didn't even mention anything about it :'(
A real shame news stations won't cover WINNING teams! But I bet we'll see/hear plenty about the Browns this season! ;D
Maybe instead of waiting to hear it from the News Channels we should let them hear from us. If enough people responsed
to them with this GREAT NEWS they will not have a choice but to report it.
Start calling those TV stations and informing them of what a big story that they missed out on.
Central Park Crushers would like to congratulate the Racers for clinching the title. are dd's had a great time going to some games to bad we can't pack that stadium. got to have a ofc night next year.
Congratulations to the Racers! ?It's everything our girls strive to be! ?We enjoyed watching them! 8) ?Three cheers for women's fastpitch!
Post a thread on this issue to keep it HOT OF THE PRESSES.
We love the Racers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all the fans for your support of the Akron Racers!! We had an awesome weekend in Chicago.
We're discussing a celebration and flag ceremony for possibly next weekend (Sept. 10). ?We'll post it here so you can come join the fun!!
Thanks again and GO RACERS!!!
Kathy, thanks for the heads-up -- keep us posted -- this is worth missing a day of school for the kids!!!
I know my kid will vote Racers over school any day!!
Thank the great athletes again for a great thrill for Ohio softball
Imagine this -- the NCAA championship team is from the Midwest (Michigan) and the championship team from the highest level of play currently in the world is also from the Midwest (Racers)
CONGRATULATIONS and WELCOME HOME!
Congrats to the Racers. It was nice to sit and watch the game with my daughter and see them play hard and come back and win it.
Did I fall asleep, or did ESPN not only cut into the Racers game with the finish of the Little League final, but ALSO eliminate the entire sixth inning of the game!!! I watched my tape AGAIN and I still can't find a sixth inning!!
Just goes to show you the respect softball has in the USA
Does anyone know if ESPN2 is showing the game in its ENTIRETY at time in the near future?
Just received this release from The Brew Crew, sterling PR director for the Akron Racers, and thought I'd pass it along:
AKRON -- The 2005 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) champion Akron Racers are staging a "Championship Celebration & Barbeque" on Saturday, Sept. 10, beginning at 6 p.m. at Firestone Stadium.
The Akron Racers Foundation and Caterers by Paparazzi???s are hosting the party, which will include the raising of a championship banner over the entrance to the Stadium.
To reserve a ticket for the "Championship Celebration & Barbeque," call the Racers at 330-376-8188.
The Racers captured their first NPF championship in thrilling fashion Aug. 28 when they rallied past the Chicago Bandits, 5-4 in eight innings, in Lisle, Ill. Akron finished the season 38-10.
Jeff Brewer, Racers public-relations dept.
received an e-mail concerning the tickets
I spoke with Racers PR director Jeff Brewer and he did not know if there is a charge or not.
Best bet is to call the Racers office Tuesday when normal business hours resume
