That's the way it ends, 10-8 for Purdue. There were five errors in the game. Six of the eight runs for the Buckeyes were unearned.

Past two days in the BIG TEN, I watched 6 teams and (4) dropped fly balls in the outfield of which one was due to the sun. So it does happen at the higher levels.

I think I will sign up for Ohiostatesports.net to watch games and save my Gas money. The Big Ten network covered some really good games today.

Lots of runs so far in the Michigan-Illinois nightcap. Michigan leads 8-3 after two innings.

Saw a ground ball go thru the NW 2B's legs and roll to the fence today with bases loaded for a base clearing 2-base error.

Michigan held on to win the second game of the DH 9-7. Illinois had to bring their #1 back in, as their starter in the second game had to be pulled in the second inning before retiring any batters. She faced 10 batters and gave up 7 runs on 5 hits, a HBP, and a walk. All 5 runs in the first inning came with two outs.

Maybe thats why they love to recruit west coast kids. Dads can't make it to many games.

NOW the secret's out... and all along people were saying it was because of the talent!! That's what I call thinking outside the box. :yahoo:

Actually with the jokes your are kind of close to the truth. They spend more time on campus working on softball and less time to go home. Told to me by some college coaches.

That can be good for the coach, but it can also be a tough road for the student-athlete. I have heard on more than one occasion of west coast recruits getting very homesick knowing they can't just hop in the car and go visit home for a long weekend. College life can be a lonely place when you're not used to being away from home like that. The "support staff" (coach, team & college friends) go a long way, but there's nothing like your own family. I'm thankful we could make frequent "day trips" to watch DD play. Not so easy when you're clear on the other coast. I think that's a part of college softball life that is too often ignored during the recruiting process.

I have also heard that they are divas, walking on to the midwestern campus's thinking they are gods gift to softball. Happens both ways I think.

Also, the out of state players are usually "adopted" by hometowners.
