You know, Northwestern has a respectable overall record of 22-13, in spite of being 4-6 in the conference. I didn't look at their schedule though to see who their non-conference opponents were.

Michigan went this past weekend without Jordan Taylor. Apparently she injured herself at practice on Thursday. Coach Hutchins won't say what the injury is, but rumor has it that it is rotator cuff related.

Sophomore Stephanie Speierman (also from SoCal) will get most of the starts in Jordan's absence.

I had not heard that. That does not bode well for Michigan for sure, especially with the tournament coming up so soon.

I wish her the best. She is a very talented young lady.

All the non-conference losses were to ranked teams. 4 of the 6 conference losses are to Michigan and Iowa. The other 2 are to WI and MSU.

Their freshman 2B, Marisa Bast, played SS at our HS. A couple of the dad's at our game today were talking about her and her cannon for an arm.

Team B/A of .254 -good for a ranking of 202nd out of 283 teams
Runs/Game 3.48 - good for a ranking of 218 out of 283 teams
SLG % .371 - good for a ranking of 180 out of 283

And defensively:
ERA 6.23 - good for a rank of 268 out of 283
FLD % .967 - good for 58 out of 283

Overall:

FYI- IUs Morgan Melloh leads the NCAA with 397 strikeouts and is now 9th on the NCAA Career Strikeout List with 1535. Again, this is a kid from Indiana who was a former High School (Hamilton SE, Fishers, IN) and D1 All American (Fresno State ).

The Xeno is a great bat. I was pointing more towards OSU's inability to hit.

The Indiana Hoosiers (33-15, 13-2 Big Ten) continued their win streak, pushing it to 13 straight games with a 3-1 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes (26-20, 8-7 Big Ten) at the IU Softball Field today. Indiana has now won 14 of 15 at home this season and have won a school-record 12 consecutive Big Ten games.
Melloh had 9ks and a 2 hitter.
