MD:

We play two WV teams in pool, and from what I could glean on the internet (always scouting :D) both the Mountain Thunder and the Lady Aces are really tough.

BTW: Is Ripple a pitcher?

CGS: Not sure if the Lady Aces you are playing are 14 or 13U. We played their 12U last yr (who would now be 13U) & they were pretty good. They ran alot & had good pitching. The pitcher had 3 to 4 good pitches, was throwing 52-53 last year & liked to pitch away from the hitter - or that is at least what she did against us.

Thought this might help you a little. Best of luck next weekend.

Thanks Kavin!

I've had a few PM's with help on scouting and it makes me smile to see how Ohio travel teams support each other. Any help that the Buckeye Heat can give to our Ohio sisters, send me a PM. But I can't guarantee the accuracy of any scouting report on the Buckeye Heat 95 team.:D:D:D

What is the address for the Smith Park that the 10s are playing on?

Doug and Yahtzee, I know Kettering Fields will be a very busy place this weekend because of this tournament along with the Men's Memorial Slow Pitch Tournament. I know this park is pretty spread out and that parking will be at a premium.. Is there a link to a map of the fields you can post? It would be nice to try to park as close as possible to the fields we will be playing on. I'm sure any information you can provide wll be helpful for everyone. Thanks

REVISED POOL PLAY BRACKETS

The Dayton METRO Commissioner requested that we pool the 12u and 14u brackets with no more than 4 teams/bracket to eliminate issues with seeding ties ...

Here are the new PP Brackets. Bracket play will begin Sat as early as 3pm, most games start at 5pm.

10u Division will be played at SMITH PARK in MIDDLETOWN ...

Doug, I think the mens event is Saturday and Sunday only. At least it has been for the past two or three years.

That's where I am at this weekend.

Just hop on North I-75 from there and go to Dayton which is approx. 2 miles to Keowee Street South exit 55A. Turn sharp left onto N. Keowee Street.

Go .05 miles and turn left on East Helena Street. Go down to the "Y" and stop then bear left. Go .02 miles and turn left on North Bend Blvd. Go down and you will see the park immediately where the men are playing as it is fenced in. Go past there a little further and the ballfields where the girls play is on the left. Parking is down there as well.

People staying in the Dayton Mall area can follow these directions as well going North on I-75 is how you would leave the Dayton Mall area to go to the ball park.

Here is the way coming from the South

If you are coming from Xenia area on US 35 westbound... Go to Keowee Street exit. At the end of the exit ramp ( and this is one of those Columbus style long exit ramp).. turn right onto Keowee Street. Follow Keowee for about 3 miles (not a busy street on a Saturday or Sunday) and you will go under I-75. After you go under I-75 go .05 miles and turn left on E Helena Street. Go to the "Y" and stop then bear left. Go .02 miles to North Bend Blvd and turn left and go past the fenced diamonds on the left and the youth diamonds is just a little ways down on the left as well.

Warning: If you travel on US 35 anywhere around Dayton.... WATCH YOUR SPEED. This area from Xenia to Dayton is HIGH ENFORCEMENT AREA. They mean every bit of that 55 mph speed limit.

Here is coming in from the east to west.

One of our eagle-eyed parents pointed out that the loser of bracket 15 will not be decided until well after that loser is supposed to play in the loser's bracket. (14U).

No lefties, only one pitcher, no power, no speed, suspect at CF. Perhaps you can decode this scouting report :)
