For those with the iscore...Is there a way to figure stats for each tournament separately? I have used it for 3 tournaments and the stats are cumulative.

Simply create separate leagues. For instance, this weekend's tourney create a league called Tourney A, next week's, Tourney B, etc.

I did this last year and was able to track game stats, individual tourney stats, and cumulative season stats.

I was originally just looking for a good pitch count/location program for my iPhone when I ran accross the iScore program. Like any other program, there is a learning curve, especially if you're going to use all of the functionality and still try to keep up with the action of the game, but I'd highly recommend it. The visuals of the pitch location and hitting spray charts are very helpful and are obviously much easier to share than a manual scorebook.

I have been playing around with this off and on for the past week. Does anybody that has iScore use the website that costs $19.99 a year? Is it worth it?

Ok, so I finally got to use the iScore app in a real game situation today. Wow. I am impressed. So was the coach with the stats emailed to him as soon as I hit a wi-fi hotspot.

Santa brought me an iPad for Christmas and I downloaded the ESPN iScore app. Used it for my youngest daughter's first tournament over New Year's and have been also using it for indoor games with the team I coach. I absolutely love it. It saves a lot of time and deciphering and provides stats I never thought of keeping. I also like the spray chart it shows before every batter's first pitch.

I had some trouble figuring out things at first but they have a forum for the product and I've been able to get all my questions answered: http://iscoreforum.com/baseball/

For all the folks jumping onboard with iPad scoring, I'll be interested in hearing your solutions to the overheating problem this summer.

I was really excited about the iScore app last winter, because it is a fantastic piece of software. But I was let down by the iPad hardware shutting down regularly, even in 80-85 degree temps. Stay out of the sun.

Yeah, the overheating thing is definitely keeping me from springing for an iPad. One of the main things I would want to do with it is iScore.

If you've ever checked out an iMac, those things get real toasty as well. Just not much in the way of ventilation. The units certainly are gorgeous, and the displays, especially the 27" version, are absolutely amazing.

Without a doubt this (iscore) is the best stat app available. It is insane.

That Samsung tablet doesn't look bad, but they want the same price as an iPad for a smaller screen. Less apps available as well.

Suppose to be a lot of new tablets coming out by the 2nd quarter. Some will be windows based, blackberry will be having one, and the Ipad2 with camera's. So I will be curious to see if the cost goes down on the Ipad. I have an andoid base tablet, which is like a large cell phone. Ipad is definately the Rolls Royce right now. In my opinion.

Everything I have read says that there will not be a reduction in price.

I would agree. Why would they, when they are selling like hotcakes? The competition will need to get aggressive with their pricing I think.

For the people that have mentioned the overheating problem. Was there anything that could be done to minimize the possiblitity of that happening? The articles I read said it was happening a lot in FL, TX and a few other southern states. I know we do not get those heats, but it does get somewhat warm here in OH.

how is battery life for the entire day... say 4 games in one day?? Does the heat make a noticeable difference on battery life? I'm sure the display has to be on full blast to get past the glare issues. I want to go electronic this year with our Ipad but if the cons outweigh the pros... to the book we will go!

Oh, I can give you a list of local tournaments this past season where we roasted every bit as much as in the southern states. In fact, almost every one of them starting from the weekend before Memorial Day. Many weekends were every bit as hot and muggy as when we went to Panama City, FL in July.

I used it for a 2 game stretch this weekend. For a total of about 3 hours and was just below 78% battery life left. I did turn off the screen between innings to see if that would help as well. I was luck enough to see an external power supply available on 1saleaday.com a few weeks back. I imagine that will give me a few added hours of power. You should be able to charge it in your car when you have a break with a car adapter as well.
