I've been using this type of ball in leu of wiffles for the last 5 years. They are cheap ($0.40 each), they hold up, you can use multicolors and no one gets hurt. We also only have to pick them up only a couple times and in a gym we can use a wide broom to expedite that chore.
I'm sure that there are many places to buy them. I got mine at a Target sale. Can't say enough, lots of cuts and no one gets hurt.
