Why you should support the Stay in Softball Tournament by entering your team:

1. Stay in Softball has helped numerous travel softball players with softball fees/expenses.
We do not post who we help unless we help with a public fundraiser because we do not want to publicize it or embarrass or people in need. We have helped players whose parents have been diagnosed with cancer or have suffered other medical issues that make softball fees hard to afford. We have helped players from many organizations that post on this forum. Don't wait to help us until one of your players needs help.

2. Stay in Softball helps grow the sport by holding free clinics for young girls.
We have only been in existence for a little over a year. However, in that time we have done twelve free clinics in Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Warren, Youngstown for girls who live in OH and Pennsylvania. All of the clinics are free and they are fun, so it helps kids learn the fundamentals and become more excited about continuing to play softball.

3. Stay in Softball helps girls improve their skills by assisting with quality coaching.
Stay in Softball has a pitching program that helps pitchers afford quality pitching instruction. We also assist with other coaching expenses for low income individuals or teams. We also invite rec coaches to our free clinics so they can learn from the best instructors. Instructors we have had for our free clinics include Bob Hoiles, Howard Kobata and current Akron Racers players. We have also had volunteer coaches from Valley Extreme, Ohio Outlaws, Ohio Wolfpack, Thunder Elite and other travel programs.

4. Stay in Softball helps girls compete in a sport and help their self esteem.
Stay in Softball helps girls who might otherwise not be able to participate in sports because of the cost. We have provided free clinics and free equipment for several teams from Cleveland Tri-League, the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland and Buchtel (Akron) Middle School who would not be able to play without our help. We continue to send equipment to teams and coaches who contact us all over Ohio.

5. Stay in Softball provides an opportunity for players to learn leadership skills.
Stay in Softball is run by players. All of the volunteers at our free clinics are players who give their time to help other people. Stay in Softball volunteers also help solicit donations, run used equipment drives and help plan new SIS events. These experiences help volunteers become prepared for first jobs, high school and college and also help them become more comfortable speaking with adults and making presentations to adults. Several of our volunteers have also been interviewed on television regarding our programs.

6. Stay in Softball lets girls do something good for others.

We know teams are just forming for the new season, but PLEASE consider this tournament as it will help us continue our work. Thank you!

I am happy to see so many teams supporting this tournament. It is a very worthy cause for some who do not have the funding to learn this great game. I hope that somewhere down the road other communities or areas around the country will be able to step up and form similar programs. Again, KUDOS to anyone who supports this great cause.

Schedule will not be posted until week of Tourney (Sept. 19th or 20th) due to so many on waiting list trying to finalize their teams.
