New States on forum

I have not been around since the beginning of OFC, so I do not know how long it took Ohioans to actively start participating in the forum. So, I am asking those of you who have been around since the conception of OFC, did it take OFC a while to take off? The response from the new states seems slow, but I have nothing to judge it against.

I am somewhat of a newbie myself... don't let the post count throw you off... I am a proliferic keyboarder.

Re: counts and averages

The adage "if you build it they will come" may be true ... but no one said when!

People in the other states need to know these boards are there. Although there were already a few OFC (original) readers from other states, getting conversations going takes a lot of people. On another board I run (completely different topic), we have 100 times more readers than posters - not sure what the OFC numbers are. So a great number of people are going need to be drawn to the new boards before we can get a few to start posting and in turn spreading the word.

For the PA board, I'm working on emailing state TDs and team reps to make theme aware of the board's existence. Hopefully, enough will eventually check it out and choose to post messages. Other suggestions are welcome.

I think some changes could be made to help increase some hits mostly by improving OFC's Google ranking. For example, if you search Google for "Ohio Fastpitch" is the first link that comes up, that's great!

If you search for "Michigan Fastpitch", OFC comes up on the first page of hits, but the link is "Ohio Fastpitch Connection Forum - Index". If I'm from Michigan that probably isn't the first link I'm going to click.

If you're from Michigan...

...you probably can't figure out how to use a computer!

;D (Just kidding. But maybe that will get a few of them posting!)
