Alright, I realize that somewhere on OFC there's a post on here about good fund raisers (though I'm unable find it), but what I'm REALLY looking for is fund raisers with NO OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. ?Are there any? ?I'm looking for some good fund raisers, that truly make money, that don't require up front $$$. ?Would love to hear your suggestions.?

Go to fundraisers.com they have some good fundraising ideas. The "no out of pocket" are generally catalog orders that you get the money for and send in the cost and you keep the rest. Remember when you add up your profit to subtract shipping charges unless they are free.

We "Tag" (Stand outside the doors with buckets for donations) at Wal-Mart with there permission of course. And raise $700 to $900 in one day. You have to fill out a form at the service center and if your a 503 C1 they may match your funds up to X amount. We run 2 hour shifts and the girls usually sign up for more then 1 shift. They really seam to love it and the time goes by fast.

I have used a hit-a-thon before. This has raised alot of money plus we get batting practice as well.

Eatsleep,

It is the same as a walk-a-thon. You give the kids a form and they go out an get either a donation or pledges. The person that pledges is pledging a certain amount for each hit the player gets out of a certain number of pitches. They ranged from 10 cents to $1.00 per hit. We gave each player 50 pitches. 25 at 50 mph and 25 at 65 mph off the pitching machine. We counted it a hit as long as it stayed fair. We gave out several cash prizes to the players based on total amount of money raised. This raises money for your program and the kids get a little batting practice. The best part of it all is 100 % of the money raised goes to your program! If you would like me to make up a form for you, send me an email at thinger@columbus.rr.com put "OFC" in subject line.

For the five organizations that are hosting events at Rivershore Sports next spring - none of them have had to put any money out.
Our facility is gearing toward helping teams make money without the pain of up-front cash. (been there done that with an organization.)
A little promotion now - will reap rewards next season.

Check us out!

Thanks,

Yes, you usually do 50 / 50, We let people know that we were going to draw the name at one of our sponsors (which was a restraunt) and gave them the time it would be at (that way if they thought it was bogus they could come see the name being drawn) and it also brought business to our sponsor. It also gets the girls together to bond outside of the game.

I heard about selling candles as a fund raiser. not sure how lucrative it is but no up front cost. Take orders and deliver, also good for the teams who have girls all over Ohio. ;)
