No good choices! Can't even find a lesser of the evils. McCain will continue to drain our economy in Iraq and either Obama or Clinton will give it away to illegals or some other undeserving, non-working, system milking group. JMHO - which I'm aloud to express because of I live in the USA.
You are absolutely right, vstormmerle---you have the right to express your views because you live in and are a citizen of the greatest nation ever born. ?Our freedoms and privileges are the envy of every other country in the world.
Please forgive me, but I am going to use your post as talking points to
speechify---here we go, lol. ?
1. ?"No good choices"---agree, none of those running would be my first choice ~ but until my ideal candidate comes riding in on his/her white horse, I'm gonna go with Hill&Bill (none of the others can beat them for experience and contacts---I know, I know ~ that's just what many of you
don't like about them),lol.
2. ?"McCain will continue to drain our economy in Iraq"---again, absolutely agree. ?He is a war-hero and a very proud man. ?It would be impossible for him to admit we went in where we shouldn't have and to leave without glorious, uncontested victory. ?I'm afraid that many more of our brave soldiers would be sacrificed so some so-called hawks in the White house (who never served a day in the military and would never let their own children), can save face.? :'(
3. ?"Obama or Clinton will give it away to illegals or some other undeserving, non-working, system milking group"---I don't think any of us likes the idea of
wasting our hard-earned tax dollars, but we have to face facts. ?Unregistered immigrants
are here, and we have to deal. ?To paraphrase ~ how we treat those least able to help themselves speaks volumes about who we are as a nation.
As far as the "non-working", as I've said in a previous post, I believe most people would prefer the dignity and independence that a?meaningful, decent paying job offers. ?Sure, everyone has heard that there are folks who would rather sit on the couch and receive disability/unemployment checks, but I prefer to believe the best of people (I know, hopelessly naive, lol).
Lastly, in regard to "system milking groups"---you must be referring to the wealthy/big corporations. ?Any assistance this current govt has given the common man/working poor is but a tiny drop in the tsunami of give-aways it has given the already well-to-do. ?With this presidency---"Membership has it's privileges" (I'd laugh if it wasn't a cryin' shame).
*That sound you hear is me, climbing down from my soapbox.* ?
