SGS Shootout Results

In pool play, the 13u Lady Irish Green went 5-0.

The Lady Irish beat: SGS Magic Red 10-2, SGS Magic Blue 7-0, Mid-Ohio Thunder 7-4, Lake Erie Waves 7-6 (we had to pitch the inning of pouring rain!), and the Central Ohio Ice 4-3.

The Irish were the #2 seed in the 14u "A" division, and will go into the top bracket of the top 4 seeds in the "A" division for bracket play semi-finals at 8am. The finals will be at 9:45am. The top seed, the G. Gators (Canada) were also 5-0 with fewer runs given up.

I also want to commend the grounds staff and tournament staff at Rolf Park...they groomed and relined the fields after every game and almost every game got to go to 7 innings with the 90 minute time limits. Lots of quality softball played...thanks! ;D ;D

Once the pools were realigned into gold/silver brackets for 14u A and 14u B, the 13u Lady Irish Green took on the Central Ohio Ice in the 14u A gold bracket in the semi-finals, winning 8-4.

In the finals, the Irish stumbled at the end, giving up the lead and losing to a strong Guelph Gators 5-6. Congratulations to the Gators for going 7-0 on the tournament in the A division and winning the gold bracket.

Also, congratulations to the SGS Magic Red for winning the 14u A silver bracket by beating the SGS Magic Blue in the semi-finals, and the Mid Ohio Thunder in the finals.

Other than some brief rain yesterday, we had a great weather weekend for softball...finally ;D ;D ;D

Excellent, well-run tournament with fantastic fields. We'll be back next year.
