I would like to thank Jamie and the Softball community at the Best of the Best. Instead of collecting a gate fee, Jamie offered to except donations to be given to a member of my team whose mother passed away this week. Thank you to all that made a donation, you went above and beyond.

Saw lots of people giving today for the Ohio Attack. It's nice to see the softball community come together. I know later in the day when no one was at the front collecting people were still coming in and looking for Wolfpack people to give more money to. Great idea Jamie with obviously a big heart behind it! Kudos to the Wolfpack for this.

Even if you're on/from a particular team, don't you even notice other game scores? Would be great to hear the results of some of the non-Ice Poole games, though I'm sure they're a great bunch of girls.

I can`t believe the above post.! If you are that curious then go to the tournament! Let somebody from the other teams post their teams results. Jaime usually posts most of the scores after the tournament...er wait maybe I missed the part about plate princess being the "voice of the Best of the Best".

I should have been more general, as it's nothing against the Ice Poole or their poster, but I don't take back the general idea of what I said (and, based on the PMs I've already received, I'm not alone).
I don't understand why people frequently only post the results of their own team's games. Is there some logic to that (beyond "if you want to know the scores, go to the tournament yourself"

First off - I make it a habit to NOT post other team/games scores because I have never had the same score given to me by two different people at the same game. ?My "logic" is that I am not going to get ripped because I posted a wrong score on here. ?I would think that other teams would post their own scores and not expect another team to do it for them. ?With that being said - unless I am keeping the score of the game personally or unless it has been "officially" posted somewhere (other site, on the board at the fields, etc.) I don't report the scores. ?I am NOT the voice of the best of the best or any other tournament - just a fan that goes to watch MY DD's games.
And no - I don't notice other team scores because I go to watch my DD play. ?I know what happens in her games and I do not worry about the other games going on (except to dodge the foul balls of which I did not do too good of a job on today)
Now - the "official" sheet for the first two days of the Best of the Best was posted at the fields today so I have those. ?Go to our site at http://www.leaguelineup.com/icepoole ?and click on the two links towards the top of the page titled "Best of the Best Day One" and "Best of the Best Day Two". ?I ALWAYS try to post scores from Pool games and brackets of the tournaments that we are in if I can and that is where they will be located at.
I do not have all of the brackets from today yet, I can tell you that when we left there was a game going on between Ohio Attack and Sunraze and the Road Runner and Indy Dreams. ?Grand Slam was waiting to play the winner of the Ohio Attack/Sunraze game. ?This was the final 5 teams left. ?Indy Dreams had just beat us - Ice Poole, Road Runners had just beat Ice Black, Grand Slam Had just beat Wolfpack Black and Ohio Attack had just beat Mississisauga (sp?) tigers (I think).
Hopefully this will satisfy your curiosity on this tournament and why I won't worry about posting other team scores. ?

Our Sunraze team really enjoyed ourselves this weekend and we want to thank Jamie and the Wolfpack organization for running a fine tournament.
The competition was excellent and there were plenty of college coaches around....

Looking for some feedback
If you attended this past weekend, what you like to see or see change for future Best of the Best showcases? Please be honest and straight forward!
Things I really can't change:
1. Playing field surface (rocky) or lip in the outfield!
2. Foul Balls flying all over the place!
3. Concession stand food or prices!
Things I know that need changed:
1. Restroom facilities (Mens & Womens) (MORE & CLEANER)
2. Netting over the stands
As a parent, player, coach or fan....What would you like to see different or change for either this fall's tournament or next summer's Best of the Best!

We weren't there but are hoping to attend next year. Where is the tournament going to be? I heard that Genshaft was sold and will soon be a Kohl's? Are there other fields in the area? Just curious

Jamie, many thanks to you, Chuck, the Wolfpack coaches & parents and all that were involved in running this fine tournament. All of the fields were prepped for every game, all of our games went the distance including 2 extra innings games while everything stayed on schedule. It is a true pleasure to be able to have games every 1:45 in pool play and every 2 hours in elimination play. The way the game was meant to be played!
My only comment and this may sound crazy with all of the rainy weekends we've had but the infields could have been hosed down and tamped now and then on Saturday & Sunday as some of the batters boxes and pitcher circles became inches thick of dirt. Extremely minor detail.
Hope to be back in the fall for your October Showcase!

We are already in the planning stages to find alternate fileds and dates to make this work for next year and this fall. I believe we will have a 2 day showcase around Oct. 11 & 12.
I have already been in contact with Kent State & Akron coaches about combining the showcase to market them together so MORE colleges will come see the girls play. I hope to know more in the months to come and will post as soon as I know!!!

It would be nice to not schedule the early game on Friday for teams with a 2 plus hour travel time. ?You either have to get up long before the sun does, or pay for an extra night in a hotel.

We purchased new tournament software this past year and we plugged in everyones name and hit create tournament (not quite that easy...but it just shot out teams vs. teams. field #'s and times. So sorry about early times but we have to start that early with the 18 teams we had to have the time slots to get ALL the games in.
The teams (coaches) new that the games would be starting around 9:00am when they entered back in NOVEMBER. NOT 1 single coach requested a special time, so if no one asks then I can't possible know that there was a problem. With that being said...We could have adjusted a team here or there to allow a team from farther away to have a later start time. Either way you would still have to leave pretty early or spend that extra night in the hotel...(THAT'S TRAVELBALL!!)
We will see what we can do next year about that and thank you for stating your concerns!!
