Congrats go out to the Miami Valley Xpress!!! Rolling through that stacked upper bracket was very impressive and it was nice to finally meet your team and some of the parents and staff. Good luck in 2009 and we look forward to another battle on the field next year.

Lionsfastpitch, it was also nice meeting you. Your team looked good earlier in the year at the Whitehall tourney and looked even better down in Virginia!!! Good Luck in 2009 and we look forward to meeting up on the softball field sometime in the Fall, Winter or Summer of next season.

The Miami Valley Xpress 14U team wants to thank everyone for their support and kind words. We are very pleased and honored to represent Ohio and bring the ASA Eastern Regional National Championship back home. The Ashland Blaze did it in 2007 and now the Xpress in 2008. It demonstrates there is good competitive softball played in the Buckeye State.

It was an incredible run for our 11 young ladies. We had to win 9 straight games in the losers bracket including 6 on Sunday. We won 3 in our last at bat. This team has won 84% of their games this season and our players do not know the meaning of the word "quit".

We thank all of the Ohio teams who wished us good luck during the Tournament. We especially thank members of the Lasers White team who came back Sunday morning to cheer us on and the Gahanna Lady Lions who started the OH-IO cheer. It was pretty special to hear OH-IO echo thru the hills of Virginia.

All in all it was an outstanding Tournament played in the beautiful Botetourt Sports Complex. To the young ladies of the Miami Valley Xpress 14U team- WAY TO GO. We are very very proud of you.

The 14's primarily played at the Botetourt complex. This was a marvelous facility, and you couldn't beat the mountains as a back-drop.

Where the 14u played Boutetort was just awesome. Fields were perfect condition. Real dugouts with bathrooms. The concourse was set about 3 feet above each field with stands on both baselines. Electronic scoreboards and official scorers in the pressbox for each game. On the final day Sunday they even had announcers introduce the starting line up and each batter during the game. Great concession stand and real bathrooms on the 1st floor of the 3 floor building set in the center of 4 fields. Official scorer on the 3rd floor. Set right in the Hills of Virginia was a perfect setting for softball.
